Whether West Virginia was on offense or defense in its first season in the Big 12, something spectacular was bound to happen. Either the Mountaineers' exciting offense or porous defense appear in the first four spots of CBSSports.com's 5 best offensive performances of the year in the Big 12.
1. The West Virginia-Baylor game
This was a stat keeper's nightmare: 133 points, 1,507 total yards of offense. Each individual performance sounded just as made up as the next. Baylor's Nick Florence threw for 581 yards and five touchdowns, and he wasn't even the best quarterback on the field that day. Geno Smith trumped those numbers with 656 passing yards for eight touchdowns. He had more touchdowns than incompletions (6). West Virginia's Tavon Austin caught 14 passes for 215 yards and two touchdowns. Teammate Stedman Bailey caught 13 passes for 303 yards and five touchdowns. And Baylor's Terrance Williams topped them both with 17 catches for 314 yards and two touchdowns.

2. The Tavon Austin Show against Oklahoma
Dana Holgorsen got the idea to try his 5-foot-9, 171-pound receiver at running back against Oklahoma. All Austin did in his first career game at the position was run for 344 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries. Oh, and he also caught four passes for 82 receiving yards. If there's one video you watch in this story, make it this one. It will give your jaw plenty of exercise.
3. Landry Jones' comeback win at West Virginia
Poor Jones. He had to share the spotlight with Austin, but it was Jones who came out on top. The senior quarterback threw for a career-best 554 yards, tossing six touchdowns. His final drive to win the game should be included in his career bio as his signature moment. On fourth-and-3 at the West Virginia 5-yard line, Jones squeezed in a pass to Kenny Stills with 24 seconds left to win the game 50-49.
4. Collin Klein's seven touchdowns at West Virginia
Oh, the poor Mountaineer defense. Here they are again, this time around they had try to stop the best dual-threat quarterback in the Big 12. Klein had the best passing game of his career, completing 19 of 21 passes for 323 yards and three touchdowns. He also tacked on four rushing touchdowns.

5. Lache Seastrunk's skip-to-goal-line game
Seastrunk gets the final spot here for one of the coolest runs of the year. On a 76-yard touchdown against Oklahoma State, Seastrunk got what the team said was a cramp in his quad around the Oklahoma State 40-yard line, and he still managed to skip his way to the end zone on one leg without getting caught from behind. His numbers for the game were pretty good as well, rushing for 179 on only 16 carries.
