Draft Scouting Report

Summary

Josaiah Stewart is a high-energy, two-point stance edge rusher built in the classic mold. He relentlessly attacks the outside shoulder of offensive tackles, using a sharp crossover move with a chop to counter inside. His slightly thick frame allows him to surprise blockers with speed-to-power conversion and competent edge-setting ability, though he could benefit from adding lower-body mass and overall strength at the next level.

As a pass rusher, Stewart’s arsenal is solid but unspectacular. He flashes a swipe move but primarily wins with explosive first-step quickness and sustained speed around the edge. His inside-out move is efficient, and while he has just enough tools to keep tackles guessing, he’ll need to refine his hand usage in the NFL. His bend and dip rank among the best in the class, giving him a natural advantage in flattening to the quarterback.

Against the run, Stewart can get washed out at times, but his relentless motor helps him maximize his impact when working inside. While not a flawless prospect, his well-built frame, sudden movement skills and relentless approach make him a dangerous pass-rushing specialist who will bring immediate juice to an NFL defense.
