Draft Scouting Report

Rating: 77.40 (Reserve/backup)
Pro Comparison: Miles Boykin
Summary

Savion Williams is a vision rather than a finished product. He is a height, weight and speed specimen but needs more refinement in his route-running. TCU used him on a lot of gadget plays, which illustrated his ability to create yards after the catch. Williams can spend more time on the JUGS machine, but shows good balance and strength through contact.

About
  • 2024: Honorable mention All-Big 12 after recording 60 receptions for 611 yards and six touchdowns
  • 2024: First TCU player with a receiving, rushing and passing touchdown in the same season since 2017
Strengths
  • Good job sinking into his routes relative to his size
  • Checks the height, weight and speed boxes
  • Good creating yards after the catch considering his usage
Weaknesses
  • Drop rate ticked up to 9.6% in 2024, per TruMedia
  • Little nuance in his route-running
  • Touches manufactured for him rather than creating his own
Combine Data
  • 40-yard dash: 4.48 seconds
