Tanney was taken off the active/non-football illness list Monday.
Tanney spent less than a week on the list before rejoining the roster. The Giants elected to exercise the option on Tanney's contract for the 2020 campaign, and he'll spend training camp looking to upend Colt McCoy and Cooper Rush for backup duties behind Daniel Jones.
