Solovyov signed a two-year, $1.55 million contract with the Flames on Wednesday.
Solovyov produced three assists over 10 NHL games last year and added 15 points in 51 regular-season contests with AHL Calgary. The Flames have a number of blueliners in contention for an NHL roster spot, so Solovyov is likely to begin 2024-25 in the AHL. His new contract is a two-way deal this season and a one-way deal in 2025-26.
