  • Tyler Seguin C | DAL

Stars' Tyler Seguin: Lights lamp in loss

Seguin scored a goal on two shots and added two hits in Thursday's 7-5 loss to the Ducks.

Seguin has two goals over his last five games. He worked on a line with Roope Hintz and Jason Robertson in this contest, though the Stars have had a lot of moving parts up front due to injuries. The 33-year-old Seguin is now at four goals, six points, 20 shots on net, 10 hits and a minus-1 rating through 14 outings this season. He should continue to occupy a top-six role.

  • Ducks' Mason McTavish: Scores empty-netter

McTavish scored an empty-net goal, added two PIM and went plus-2 in Thursday's 7-5 win over the Stars.

McTavish continues to provide consistency form the second line with four points over his last three games. The 22-year-old is up to three goals, 10 points, 23 shots on net, 17 hits, 16 PIM and a plus-1 rating through 13 appearances. McTavish offers a little grit in addition to a fair amount of offense, making him a solid fantasy option for category coverage.

  • Zach Hyman C | EDM

    Oilers' Zach Hyman: Nearing return

Hyman (wrist) will miss Saturday's game against Colorado, but he might make his season debut within the next week, Daniel Nugent-Bowman of The Athletic reports Friday.

Hyman will probably take a spot on the top line alongside Connor McDavid as well as serve on the first power-play unit once he's healthy. Hyman's return might also lead to Andrew Mangiapane shifting to the second line, and Jack Roslovic moving out of the top six.

  • Oilers' Mattias Janmark: Returning soon

Janmark (undisclosed) is expected to make his season debut either Saturday or Monday against the Avalanche or the Blue Jackets, respectively, Daniel Nugent-Bowman of The Athletic reports.

Janmark was still skating in a fifth-line role at Friday's practice session, so a return Monday seems more likely. In the past, Janmark has found himself in a middle-six role without any power-play time. As such, he will be hard-pressed to get over the 20-point threshold and offer much more than mid-range fantasy value, at best.

  • Stars' Wyatt Johnston: Another three-point performance

Johnston recorded two goals and one assist, all of them on the power play, in Thursday's 7-5 loss to the Ducks.

Johnston gave the Stars a 2-0 lead in the first period with back-to-back power-play tallies. However, Anaheim would score seven goals over the following two periods to turn things around. This three-point effort extended Johnston's solid run of play. He's notched 11 points (five goals, six assists) over his last eight contests while cracking the scoresheet six times in that span.

  • Sharks' Michael Misa: Is week-to-week

Misa (lower body) is regarded as being week-to-week, Max Miller of NHL.com reports Friday.

Misa missed Wednesday's 6-1 win over Seattle after sustaining the injury during a team practice. San Jose has been easing the 18-year-old into the NHL, and consequently, he was a healthy scratch in two of San Jose's three games before the injury. Misa has a goal and three points in seven appearances this season.

  • Leo Carlsson C | ANA

Ducks' Leo Carlsson: Continues hot streak

Carlson recorded an even-strength goal and a power-play assist in Thursday's 7-5 win over the Stars.

Carlsson found the twine in the third period with a shorthanded goal, and that allowed him to snap a brief two-game scoring drought. He's been excellent of late and is riding an eight-game point streak while cracking the scoresheet in all but two of his 13 appearances this season. He's up to 20 points already (six goals, 14 assists) while posting an impressive, yet unsustainable, 20.7 percent shooting percentage.

  • Dylan Strome C | WAS

Capitals' Dylan Strome: Paces offense in loss

Strome scored a goal on five shots, supplied two assists, added two PIM and went plus-2 in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Penguins.

Strome led the charge in the Capitals' second-period rally, getting them on the board midway through the frame before assisting on goals by Rasmus Sandin and Tom Wilson. The 28-year-old Strome has four points over three games since returning from a lower-body injury that cost him two contests. For the season, Strome is at four goals, 14 points, 28 shots on net and a plus-10 rating across 12 outings. He should be locked in as the top-line center while Pierre-Luc Dubois (lower body) is out with a long-term injury.

  • Connor Dewar C | PIT

Penguins' Connor Dewar: Fills empty net

Dewar scored an empty-net goal on four shots in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Capitals.

Dewar had been limited to one assist over his previous six games. The 26-year-old has filled in nicely as a fourth-line forward, though the Penguins' mounting injury woes could allow him to see more ice time in the near future -- he had a season-high 15:21 in Thursday's win. Dewar is at six points, 29 shots on net and 37 hits through 15 outings, so he has plenty of appeal in banger leagues.

  • Canadiens' Oliver Kapanen: Lights lamp Thursday

Kapanen scored a goal on two shots and added two PIM in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Devils.

Kapanen snapped a six-game goal drought with his tally, which put the Canadiens ahead 3-2 in the middle of the third period. The 22-year-old continues to contribute fairly regularly from a middle-six role, racking up five goals, three helpers, 18 shots on net and a plus-1 rating over 14 appearances. He's most useful in deeper fantasy formats, but he's making a good impression in his first season as a full-time NHLer.
