  • Mason Shaw C | WPG

Jets' Mason Shaw: Headlines Black Aces

Shaw was recalled from AHL Manitoba on Monday, along with Axel Jonsson-Fjallby, defensemen Dylan Coghlan, Isaak Phillips and Elias Salomonsson.

Shaw is probably the strongest candidate among the Jets' Black Aces to get promoted to the main roster, though it would likely take a few more injuries for him to crack the lineup. Despite putting up 37 points in 72 games with AHL Manitoba, the 26-year-old center failed to earn a promotion to the roster and has yet to debut for Winnipeg after signing a one-year deal with the club last July.

  • Capitals' Aliaksei Protas: Slated to be game-time call

Protas (foot) will probably be a game-time decision for Game 5 against Montreal on Wednesday, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports.

Head coach Spencer Carbery believes Protas is close to being available, and the 24-year-old forward will return to the lineup once given the green light to play. Protas compiled 30 goals, 66 points and 142 shots on net through 76 regular-season appearances in 2024-25. He could occupy a top-six role if he is back for Game 5.

  • Kings' Phillip Danault: Two more helpers in loss

Danault logged two assists, five shots on goal and six blocked shots in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Oilers in Game 4.

Danault has three multi-point efforts over four playoff games. He's amassed two goals, five assists, seven shots on net, six hits, 11 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating this postseason. The second-line center plays a massive defensive role for the Kings, though his recent success on offense is enough to make him an option in DFS.

  • Oilers' Ryan Nugent-Hopkins: Helps out on power play

Nugent-Hopkins notched a power-play assist and three shots on goal in Sunday's 4-3 overtime win over the Kings in Game 4.

Nugent-Hopkins has a goal and an assist over his last two games. His helper Sunday was his first power-play point since April 1 versus the Golden Knights. The 32-year-old continues to fill a top-six role, but so far in the playoffs, he's been more of a supporting player rather than a scoring leader. He's added seven shots on net, two hits, two blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating over four postseason outings.

  • Oilers' Connor McDavid: Distributes three assists

McDavid notched three assists, seven shots on goal and two PIM in Sunday's 4-3 overtime win over the Kings in Game 4.

McDavid helped out on both of Evan Bouchard's goals in the third period as well as Leon Draisaitl's power-play game-winner in overtime. In addition to the playmaking, McDavid was the one who drew the tripping penalty on Vladislav Gavrikov in overtime. McDavid has 10 points (two goals, eight assists) while adding 16 shots on net, 10 hits and a plus-4 rating over four playoff contests.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Clutches up with four-point game

Draisaitl scored a power-play goal on four shots, added three assists and doled out four hits in Sunday's 4-3 overtime win over the Kings in Game 4.

Draisaitl set up the Oilers' first three goals and then secured the comeback win with his tally at 18:18 of overtime. The 29-year-old has been in peak playoff form with three goals and six assists over four contests. He's added 13 shots on net, seven hits and a plus-5 rating this postseason. Draisaitl always seems to elevate his game this time of year, and that has helped the Oilers even the series at 2-2 after losing the first two games.

  • Devils' Nico Hischier: Scores again Sunday

Hischier netted an even-strength goal on three shots and levied two hits in Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Hurricanes in Game 4.

Hischier cut Carolina's lead to 3-1 at 2:45 of the second period, but it wasn't enough as the Devils finished with two goals or fewer for the third time in four games. The 26-year-old Hischier will need to lead the charge on offense in order to avoid his club being eliminated from the playoffs in Game 5 on Tuesday. New Jersey's captain has three goals, 12 shots on net, eight hits, six blocked shots and a minus-1 rating in this first-round series.

  • Seth Jarvis C | CAR

Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Points in three straight games

Jarvis banked a power-play assist and a plus-1 rating in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Devils in Game 4.

While Jarvis was held without a point in Game 1, the right-shot winger has gotten on the scoresheet in the ensuing three matchups. The 23-year-old was replaced on the top line Sunday by Andrei Svechnikov, as Jarvis is now skating alongside Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Taylor Hall on the second line. Jarvis still has his spot on the No. 1 power-play unit, so his production shouldn't take much of a hit, if any. The 2020 first-round selection has recorded two goals, three points, eight shots on net, 12 hits and an even plus-minus rating while averaging 21:03 of ice time over four postseason outings.

  • Nic Dowd C | WAS

Capitals' Nic Dowd: Slides assist in win

Dowd notched an assist, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Canadiens in Game 4.

Dowd snapped a four-game point drought with the helper on a Brandon Duhaime empty-netter in the third period. The 34-year-old Dowd continues to be an important depth forward for the Capitals, functioning as a shutdown center. This was his first point to go with five shots on net, 10 hits, nine blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over four playoff games.

  • Capitals' Connor McMichael: Adds assist Sunday

McMichael logged an assist, four shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Canadiens in Game 4.

McMichael set up Tom Wilson's empty-netter in the final minute of the third period. The 24-year-old McMichael has regained a scoring touch in the postseason with three goals on 12 shots, one assist, three hits and a plus-3 rating over four outings. He's in a top-six role and should continue to be a steady source of offense throughout the playoffs.
