C.J. Wilson struggled in his most recent start, allowing three earned runs while not being able to complete the third inning. However, after a closed-door meeting with Angels manager Mike Scioscia, Wilson will not be demoted from the starting rotation, according to Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times.
This was the second closed-door meeting between Wilson and Scioscia in as many months.
Jerome Williams took over for Wilson in Wednesday's game, allowing just one hit and no walks in 4 1/3 scoreless innings.
Wilson is 12-10 in 32 starts this season with a 3.82 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 161 strikeouts in 190 2/3 innings. However, he is 3-5 with a 5.79 ERA and 1.56 WHIP in the second half.
