Miller picked up a hold in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Marlins, allowing two hits while striking out one over two-thirds of a scoreless inning.
Miller entered the game in the eighth inning and recorded his seventh hold of the season, throwing 12 of his 18 pitches for strikes. The left-hander gave up a single and a double before being pulled in favor of closer Camilo Doval. Miller hasn't been charged with a run since May 11. Spencer Bivens got the start but couldn't get through five innings. Miller has been on the hook for the loss in each of his last two outings, though this was less his fault than his meltdown versus the White Sox on Wednesday. He's still allowed seven runs (six earned) over his last seven innings, and a 9:8 K:BB in that span isn't helping his cause. Miller loaded the bases in the top of the ninth inning, and Spencer Bivens allowed all three of those runners to score. That left Miller with his first loss since July 22. The southpaw has allowed eight runs over 12 innings since the All-Star break, adding an 18:10 K:BB in that span.
