Brewers' Blake Perkins: Running on ultra-gravity treadmill
Perkins (shin) has been running at 70 percent of his body weight on an ultra-gravity treadmill and will be re-evaluated Friday, Jack Stern of BrewerFanatic.com reports.
Assuming he checks out well Friday, Perkins should be cleared to advance to the next step in his rehab, although it's not clear exactly what that would be. Out since late February with a fractured right shin, Perkins is still tentatively expected to be ready for his season debut sometime in May.

Brewers' Blake Perkins: Lands on IL
Milwaukee placed Perkins (shin) on the 10-day injured list Thursday.
Perkins fractured his right shin early in spring training and plans to continue his rehab program at the Brewers' complex in Arizona rather than traveling north with the big club for the start of the regular season, per MLB.com. Milwaukee is hopeful that Perkins will be ready to make his season debut at some point in May, but a more definitive date is unlikely to be established until he resumes playing in rehab games.

Brewers' Blake Perkins: Cleared for baseball activities
Perkins was cleared to begin light baseball activities Saturday, Sophia Minnaert of FanDuel Sports Network Wisconsin reports.
Perkins fractured his right shin during batting practice in late February, and he's now starting to take the first steps toward a return. He's already been ruled out for the start of the season -- he likely won't be ready for games until May -- which opens the door for Manuel Margot to possibly grab a spot on the Brewers' bench.

Brewers' Blake Perkins: Out with fractured shin
Perkins was diagnosed with a right leg fracture Saturday after fouling a pitch off his shin during live batting practice, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Manager Pat Murphy said Perkins will require 3-to-4 weeks to recover, and he likely won't be able to play in games for the Brewers until May. The 28-year-old entered camp as the favorite to win a roster spot as Milwaukee's reserve outfielder, but his injury likely leaves the newly signed Manuel Margot as the frontrunner for the job.

He has gone just 5-for-43 in 12 September contests but has still managed four thefts. Brewers' Blake Perkins: Heading to bench Sunday
Perkins is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.
For just the third time in 13 games on the month, Perkins will take a seat while Milwaukee goes with a starting outfield of Jackson Chourio, Garrett Mitchell and Sal Frelick from left to right. Since returning from a stint on the injured list Aug. 22, Perkins has slashed an anemic .197/.287/.258 over 19 games. He could soon be at risk of moving into more of a fourth-outfielder role.

Perkins is out of the lineup for the first game of Friday's doubleheader against the Reds.
Perkins started the previous six games but will take a seat for Friday's matinee. He's gone 6-for-21 with two doubles, four walks, four RBI and three runs since returning from the injured list last week. Garrett Mitchell will instead start in center field against Cincinnati righty Nick Martinez.

Brewers' Blake Perkins: Getting steady playing time
Perkins will start in center field and bat ninth in Thursday's game against the Giants.
Before he landed on the injured list Aug. 12 with a right calf strain, Perkins had been serving as the Brewers' fourth outfielder, but he seems to have moved into a near-everyday role since being activated last Thursday. The switch-hitting Perkins will pick up his sixth consecutive start Thursday, with four of those coming against right-handed pitchers. Perkins is getting on base at a .409 clip since returning from the IL and appears to have at least temporarily supplanted Garrett Mitchell as the Brewers' preferred option in center field.

Brewers' Blake Perkins: Back from injured list
The Brewers activated Perkins (calf) from the 10-day injured list Thursday.
Perkins required a minimum-length absence for a right calf strain and didn't go out on a rehab assignment prior to being activated. The 27-year-old outfielder should be deployed mostly against left-handed pitching by the Brewers down the stretch.

Brewers' Blake Perkins: Targeting Thursday return
Perkins (calf) will take batting practice Tuesday, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Assuming Perkins is able to avoid any setbacks, the plan is for him to return to the Brewers ahead of Thursday's series finale against the Cardinals. With Christian Yelich (back) set to miss the rest of the season, the 27-year-old Perkins will have more opportunities to start in Milwaukee's outfield, likely filling in for Sal Frelick or Garrett Mitchell against left-handed starters.

Brewers' Blake Perkins: Goes on 10-day IL
The Brewers placed Perkins on the 10-day injured list Monday with a right calf strain.
The outfielder will be sidelined for at least a week and a half with the injury, which he likely sustained in Sunday's loss to the Reds. In the meantime, infielder Tyler Black was recalled from Triple-A Nashville to replace Perkins on the major-league roster.

Brewers' Blake Perkins: Nursing calf issue
Perkins is likely unavailable to play Monday against the Dodgers due to a calf issue, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Perkins evidently tweaked his calf during Sunday's loss to the Reds. The Brewers have added Tyler Black to the taxi squad, and he could be recalled from Triple-A Nashville if Perkins requires a stint on the injured list.
