Angels' Dakota Hudson: Cut from big-league camp
The Angels reassigned Hudson to minor-league camp Tuesday.
Hudson tossed two scoreless innings over his lone Cactus League appearance, but he wasn't a serious contender for an Opening Day roster spot after submitting a lowly 6.17 ERA and 1.67 WHIP over his 18 big-league starts with the Rockies in 2024. Assuming he doesn't elect free agency, Hudson will likely open the season as a member of the Triple-A Salt Lake rotation.

Angels' Dakota Hudson: Gets MiLB deal from Angels
The Angels signed Hudson to a minor-league contract Monday, Aram Leighton of Just Baseball reports.
Hudson posted an ugly 6.17 ERA in 18 starts this past season for the Rockies. The 30-year-old holds a 5.08 ERA and 1.53 WHIP since the start of the 2022 season and seems likely to begin the 2025 campaign as rotation depth at Triple-A Salt Lake.

Dakota Hudson: Elects free agency
Hudson elected free agency Friday.
The Rockies removed Hudson from their 40-man roster and he's choosing free agency rather than accepting an outright assignment to the minors. Essentially, it's a way for the club to non-tender the right-hander early, as Colorado was unlikely to offer Hudson a raise via arbitration after the righty posted a 6.17 ERA in 18 starts this season. Hudson ended the season on the injured list with right elbow inflammation but should be healthy by spring training.

Rockies' Dakota Hudson: Pushed to 60-day IL
The Rockies transferred Hudson (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list Thursday.
Removing Hudson from the 40-man roster allows the Rockies to add Jaden Hill. Hudson is now officially done for the season with right elbow inflammation, and he's a likely non-tender candidate this offseason after posting a 6.17 ERA in 18 starts.
