Romy Gonzalez has spent back-to-back seasons in the majors with the White Sox, but has made only 206 plate appearances including a .194/.208/.376 slash line in 2023. The 27-year-old's main value to the team seems to be in a utility role as he saw starts in right field, left field, shortstop and also filled in at third base and centerfield while seeing the bulk of his playing time at second base. Gonzalez will compete for the utility man role again in 2024, but his struggles at the plate combined with multiple additions in the infield could see him on the outside looking in for playing time.
