  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: May bat leadoff

Dominguez could bat leadoff this year, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Per Hoch, manager Aaron Boone said he believes Dominguez's skill set fits well atop the lineup, pointing to his blend of on-base ability, power and solid base-running. Nothing has been decided yet, but it shouldn't be assumed that Anthony Volpe will bat leadoff after a second consecutive season with an OBP below .300. Hoch also notes that the Yankees would prefer to have Cody Bellinger and Jazz Chisholm in a position to drive in runs, but that they could be options to lead off if neither Dominguez or Volpe earns the honor.

  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Slated to play left field

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Tuesday in an interview on WFAN Sports Radio that he's likely to use Dominguez in left field and Cody Bellinger in center field this season.

Boone noted that Bellinger will move around to other positions a bit, as needed, while the skipper prefers to keep Dominguez in one spot. Dominguez -- who was mostly a center fielder in the minors -- had some gaffes in left field last season, but the Yankees are confident he'll be fine there with more experience. Boone also mentioned Dominguez as a potential candidate to bat leadoff, per Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News.

  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Set for significant role in CF

Dominguez appears set to take over in center field for the Yankees in 2025, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Dominguez has a "clear lane" to take over in center field for New York, with Aaron Judge expected to move back to right field in 2025, according to general manager Brian Cashman. Cashman said of Dominguez that the team "obviously believe he has a very high ceiling, and he's healthy." The 21-year-old appeared in 18 games with the Yankees in the 2024 regular season, producing a .179 average with two home runs, four RBI, eight runs scored and five stolen bases over 56 at-bats. Dominguez did compile a much more impressive .309 average with seven long-balls, 25 RBI, 33 runs scored and 15 stolen bases over 44 contests with Triple-A Wilkes-Barre last season.

  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Boone sees big role in 2025

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Monday that he expects Dominguez to be a "big part" of the team in 2025, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

Much to the chagrin of many Yankees fans, Boone largely stuck with Alex Verdugo as his primary left fielder over Dominguez during the regular season and postseason. However, Verdugo is now a free agent and seems unlikely to return, clearing a spot in the everyday lineup for Dominguez. What position the 21-year-old plays could depend on whether the Yankees' re-sign Juan Soto, but Dominguez is likely to be an everyday player either way. He has a .747 OPS with six homers and six steals over 100 career plate appearances in the majors and boasts ample fantasy upside.
