Brewers' Brandon Sproat: Dealt to Milwaukee
The Mets traded Sproat and Jett Williams to the Brewers on Wednesday in exchange for Freddy Peralta and Tobias Myers, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Sproat broke into the majors toward the end of the 2025 season, posting a 4.79 ERA and 1.21 WHIP to go with a 17:7 K:BB over 20.2 innings (four starts) with the Mets. The 25-year-old righty's chances of beginning 2026 in the Brewers' rotation increase with Peralta and Myers now out of the picture, though Milwaukee still has enough viable starting options on its roster for Sproat to report to Triple-A Nashville instead.

Brewers' Jett Williams: Traded in Peralta deal
The Mets traded Williams to the Brewers on Wednesday alongside Brandon Sproat in exchange for Freddy Peralta and Tobias Myers, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
After posting an .867 OPS over 96 games with the Mets' Double-A affiliate, Williams received a promotion to Triple-A Syracuse in mid-August and slashed .209/.285/.433 with seven homers, 15 RBI and 21 runs scored across 151 plate appearances. The 22-year-old prospect doesn't own a 40-man roster spot, making it likely that he will report to Triple-A Nashville to begin his tenure with the Brewers, but he could be promoted sometime during the season if Joey Ortiz's offensive struggles carry into 2026.

Brewers' Frank Cairone: Recovering from car accident
Cairone was in a serious car accident Jan. 2, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
He sustained serious injuries and was recovering in the hospital, per the most recent reports. Things are progressing "positively", per general manager Matt Arnold, but it seems this will have an impact on Cairone's 2026 season. He was selected by Milwaukee with the No. 68 overall pick in 2025 and hasn't made his pro debut.

Brewers' Garrett Mitchell: Reaches deal with Brewers
The Brewers and Mitchell (shoulder) avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $950,000 contract Thursday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Mitchell missed most of the 2025 season after requiring a second surgery on his left shoulder, and it's unclear whether he will be ready to go at the start of the 2026 campaign. The outfielder is under team control through 2028 and is likely to compete for a starting job in the outfield when healthy.

Brewers' Angel Zerpa: Gets one-year deal from Milwaukee
The Brewers and Zerpa avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $1.095 million contract Thursday, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.
Zerpa was acquired via trade from the Royals earlier in the offseason and had been eligible for arbitration for the first time. The lefty held a 4.18 ERA and 1.38 WHIP across 64.2 innings in 2025 and could be stretched out as a starting pitcher in his first spring training with the Brewers.

Brewers' Brice Turang: Avoids arbitration with Brewers
The Brewers and Turang avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $4.15 million contract Thursday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.
Turang had been eligible for salary arbitration for the first time, so he's getting a massive raise. The second baseman slashed .288/.359/.435 with a career-high 18 home runs and 24 stolen bases over 156 regular-season contests for the Brewers this past season.

Brewers' Trevor Megill: Settles at $4.7 million
The Brewers and Megill avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $4.7 million contract Thursday, Ari Alexander of 7 News Boston reports.
It's a nice raise for Megill, who was eligible for salary arbitration for the second time. The 32-year-old notched a career-high 30 saves in 2025, collecting a 2.49 ERA and 60:17 K:BB over 47 regular-season innings. Megill should open the 2026 campaign as the Brewers' closer, but Abner Uribe could also be in the mix to save games.
