During an appearance on the All Smoke Podcast, Rondo confirmed that he's officially retired from the NBA.
"Yeah, I'm done," Rondo said. "I can't. I'd rather spend time with my kids." Rondo had quite the career, spending time with nine different NBA teams with combined averages of 9.8 points, 7.9 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.6 steals across 957 games. He played a total of 16 seasons with his most recent stint coming with the Lakers and Cavaliers in 2021-22. Rondo was a four-time All-Star and two-time NBA champion, earning rings with the Celtics in 2007-08 and the Lakers in 2020.

Cavaliers' Rajon Rondo: Nine dimes at Brooklyn
Rondo provided seven points (3-8 FG, 1-5 3Pt), three rebounds and nine assists over 26 minutes during Tuesday's 115-108 loss to the Nets.
Rondo was the only guard the Cavaliers brought off the bench, and he played his usual role as a facilitator. Darius Garland and Caris LeVert will get plenty of chances to handle the ball, but Rondo has more experience in playoff settings and should continue to garner significant minutes as long as Cleveland remains alive.
