Top Damyean Dotson News

  • Damyean Dotson: Goes for 19 points

Dotson had 19 points (7-14 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, five assists and two steals across 36 minutes in Friday's overtime loss against Santa Cruz.

Dotson has plenty of NBA experience compared to most of his teammates and that has been noticeable, as he's been able to become one of the team's go-to players on offense in most contests. That said, he ended a slump of five straight games with 14 or fewer points in this one and will try to end the season on a strong note.

  • Damyean Dotson: Goes for 13 points

Dotson registered 13 points (5-11 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT) and five assists across 33 minutes in Wednesday's loss against Agua Caliente.

Dotson has decent NBA experience under his belt, but his recent games have been a bit underwhelming, as he has failed to reach the 15-point mark in each of his last four contests. Even in that scenario, he's averaging 15.1 points per tilt on the campaign.

Dotson had 18 points (6-12 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), five rebounds and five assists across 34 minutes in Thursday's win over Sioux Falls.

Another Austin game and another instance where Dotson thrives as a scoring machine for the club. Perhaps more importantly, Dotson bounced back after he scored just two points against Agua Caliente on Tuesday. He's scored at least 18 points in three of his last four appearances.

Dotson looked impressive in this one and was one of Austin's best players, but that shouldn't impress anyone at this point. He's averaging 16.9 points per game on the season while shooting 46 percent from the field and 38.6 percent from deep.

Dotson registered 39 points (10-17 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 5-5 FT), six assists, four steals and two rebounds across 31 minutes in Thursday's loss to the Vipers.

Dotson, who has spent decent time at the NBA level in his career, was the best player for Austin in this contest, even if it wasn't enough to give the team a victory. This was also the first time he cleared the 25-point hurdle with Austin and just the second time in which he scored more than 20 points.

Dotson delivered 22 points (4-8 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 11-12 FT), four rebounds, three steals and an assist across 32 minutes in Friday's win over the Blue.

Dotson didn't have his best performance in this game, but he salvaged his fantasy day after scoring more than half of his points from the charity stripe. Dotson has played just three games with Austin but has scored in double digits in each one of those contests.

  • Damyean Dotson: Scores 10 with five dimes

Dotson posted 10 points (4-9 FG, 2-3 3Pt), five assists and two rebounds across 26 minutes in Thursday's win over Sioux Falls.

Six Austin players scored in double digits in this one, and while Dotson's scoring figures were not very impressive, his five assists certainly stood out. He should remain a productive player for Austin as long as he remains healthy.

Dotson (illness) didn't play Friday against the Hustle after entering the league's health and safety protocols.

Dotson's absence means he will miss at least a couple of games for Austin, and right now there's no timetable for his return. Dotson scored in double digits in 10 of his 12 appearances for Austin during the G League showcase, but he's yet to play in the regular season.

Across 12 G League appearances, he averaged 12.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.4 assists in 34.9 minutes per game, and he should serve in a depth role with the Knicks.

Dotson has decent NBA experience under his belt and has looked decent for Austin this season. Though he's lacked consistency at times, he can get it done on the offensive side of the ball and is averaging 12.7 points per game while making 44.4 percent of his shots.

  • Damyean Dotson: Double-doubles against Vipers

Dotson notched 15 points (7-13 FG, 1-3 3Pt), 11 rebounds, five assists, a steal and a block across 34 minutes in Friday's loss against Rio Grande.

It was a strong start to the campaign for Dotson, who managed to contribute on both ends of the court. Considering he averaged 6.7 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 19.7 minutes per contest across 46 appearances for the Cavaliers last season, Dotson should be more than equipped to be a productive player at the G League level.
