  • Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Scores four points

Jackson produced four points (2-5 FG, 0-3 3Pt) and one rebound across 11 minutes during Monday's 108-106 win over Minnesota.

This was Jackson's debut after the wing was sidelined for nearly three months to begin the season while completing his recovery from the surgery he underwent Sept. 4 to repair his fractured foot. Coach Taylor Jenkins mentioned that Jackson will be brought along slowly as he regains his conditioning, but minutes will be tough to come by in Memphis' crowded wing rotation, which makes him just a player to monitor in deeper formats for now.

  • Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Recalled to NBA

The Grizzlies recalled Jackson from the G League's Memphis Hustle on Sunday.

Jackson debuted for the Hustle on Wednesday, finishing with 18 points (5-16 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 5-6 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one block. He's still knocking off the rust and will need to get his conditioning up, but he could back in the rotation for the Grizzlies sooner rather than later.

  • Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Debuts in G League

Jackson (foot) played 27 minutes Wednesday in the G League Memphis Hustle's 132-128 overtime loss to the Rip City Remix, finishing with 18 points (5-16 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 5-6 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one block.

Jackson took the court for the first time during the 2024-25 campaign, after he had been sidelined for nearly three months to begin the season while completing his recovery from the surgery he underwent Sept. 4 to repair his fractured foot. Though he saw a sizable minutes load in his first game action since the Las Vegas Summer League, Jackson could stick around in the G League to make a few more appearances before rejoining the Grizzlies. The second-year forward averaged 14.6 points in 25.7 minutes per game over his 48 appearances for the Grizzlies as a rookie. Still, with the team in much better health this season than last, Jackson may be in store for only a minor role in the rotation once he rejoins the parent club.

  • Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Will play rehab game in G League

The Grizzlies assigned Jackson (foot) to the G League's Memphis Hustle on Tuesday.

Jackson has yet to play this season while recovering from right foot surgery, but head coach Taylor Jenkins said Monday that the second-year forward has reached the reconditioning phase of his rehab. According to Jon Roser of the Grizzlies Radio Network, Jackson is scheduled to play for the Hustle in Wednesday's game against the Rip City Remix, though he could be operating under a minute restriction. Jackson will likely appear in multiple games for the Hustle before rejoining the Grizzlies.

  • Grizzlies' GG Jackson: In reconditioning phase of rehab

Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins said Monday that Jackson has "pretty much checked off everything" in his recovery from the surgery he underwent in September to address a right foot fracture and will merely need to get reconditioned before making his season debut, Rob Fischer of FanDuel Sports Network Southeast reports.

Jenkins suggested that the 20-year-old forward's initial exposure to games may come with the G League's Memphis Hustle rather than the parent club, but Jackson will presumably need to put in at least a few more practices before getting the green light for competitive action. As a rookie second-round pick last season, Jackson showed a knack for scoring with an average of 14.6 points and 2.1 three-pointers in 25.7 minutes per game over his 48 appearances, but he benefited greatly from the Grizzlies being decimated by injuries. Memphis currently has two other key players (Marcus Smart and Vince Williams) out with injuries but has still enjoyed better health overall in 2024-25 compared to last season, so Jackson might have to settle for a small role in the rotation once he's up to full speed and cleared to suit up for the parent club.

  • Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Not playing Monday

Jackson (foot) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Rockets.

Jackson has been progressing in his recovery from procedure he underwent in September to repair a broken fifth metatarsal in his right foot, but he's not quite ready to make his 2024-25 regular-season debut. His next opportunity to do so will be Wednesday against the Spurs.

  • Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Practicing again in G League

The Grizzlies assigned Jackson (foot) to the G League's Memphis Hustle on Thursday.

Jackson will practice with the Hustle for the second time this season and will be recalled immediately after. The second-year forward underwent surgery in September to repair a broken fifth metatarsal in his right foot, but he appears to be drawing closer to his season debut.

  • Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Assigned to G League

The Grizzlies assigned Jackson (foot) to the G League's Memphis Hustle on Tuesday.

  • Grizzlies' GG Jackson: On pace for January return

Jackson (foot) "continues to progress well" from offseason foot surgery and is expected to return to play in 6-8 weeks.

Jackson underwent surgery to repair a broken fifth metatarsal in his right foot suffered during the offseason. His eventual re-introduction to the rotation will be an interesting dichotomy between the Grizzlies' postseason ambition and continued development for the 19-year-old. That being said, Memphis' depth has been a core reason for success this season, so Jackson's ramp-up will be worth monitoring.

  • Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Return timeline remains fluid

Jackson (foot) said Tuesday on FanDuel's Run It Back show that he's targeting a return around mid-January.

Jackson said he's trying to push himself to get back by late December, but the medical staff is being cautious, so realistically, he'll likely return to game action sometime in January. After a breakout rookie season for the injury-riddled Grizzlies, the second-round pick had high expectations for Year 2. However, he broke the fifth metatarsal in his right foot during a summer workout, underwent surgery at the beginning of September and was ruled out for at least three months. When healthy, Jackson's role will presumably be smaller than he had last year, as Memphis' roster is much healthier, but he should still be able to carve out a reserve role.

  • Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Out at least three months

Jackson underwent a successful procedure to repair a broken fifth metatarsal in his right foot Wednesday and will be evaluated in approximately three months.

Jackson will miss at least the first month of the season while rehabbing from the procedure but is expected to make a full recovery. However, when healthy, his role remains unclear. As a rookie, the second-round pick carved out a substantial role for the injury-riddled Grizzlies. Over his final 18 regular-season appearances, Jackson averaged 20.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 34.1 minutes per game. With Ja Morant (shoulder), Marcus Smart (finger) and Desmond Bane (back) returning to full strength this offseason, Jackson will have a difficult time repeating those numbers in Year 2.

  • Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Suffers broken foot

Jackson broke the fifth metatarsal in his right foot earlier this week and will undergo surgery Sept. 4.

The Grizzlies had a rough time with injuries in the 2023-24 season, and the team is not catching a break even in the offseason. Jackson suffered the injury while playing basketball outside Dallas on Aug. 27 when he had an unstable landing on his right foot. A timetable for recovery has not been provided, but it wouldn't be surprising if Jackson is not fully recovered for the start of the regular season in late October.

  • Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Has another big night

Jackson recorded 28 points (11-16 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 3-8 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and two steals in 37 minutes during Monday's 120-118 Summer League loss to the Heat.

Jackson was named to the NBA 2K25 All-Summer League First Team earlier in the day, and it's not difficult to see why. He narrowly missed a double-double and shot with efficiency, converting on 68.8 percent of his tries from the field. This was a great finish to Summer League for the 19-year-old forward.

  • Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Hands out six dimes in win

Jackson dished out six assists over 32 minutes of play Thursday, adding 17 points (4-14 FG, 7-8 FT), seven rebounds, two triples and one steal in an 88-77 win over the Pelicans in Las Vegas.

Jackson's season high in dimes last season was four, but he had some impressive assists during Thursday's contest, so it appears that's a part of his game that he's been working on. Scotty Pippen Jr. also showed some impressive playmaking skills during Thursday's win, handing out 11 assists to go with 17 points (6-11 FG, 4-5 FT), six rebounds, one triple, three steals and just one turnover across 29 minutes. Both players have been great in Las Vegas, but if the Grizzlies are healthy next season, it'll be tough for either to earn enough minutes to make an impact in most 12-team fantasy leagues.

  • Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Nets 18 points with full line

Jackson hit 7-of-14 shots (3-7 3Pt) and made 1-of-2 free throws for 18 points, eight rebounds, two assists, three triples and three steals across 33 minutes during Wednesday's Summer League loss to the Thunder.

While most of Jackson's stat line was great, his six turnovers were less than stellar. Jackson posted some solid stat lines last season while logging big minutes for a team that was missing most of its key guys, but it'll be tough for him to replicate that success in Year 2 if Jaren Jackson Jr. and Brandon Clarke are healthy.

  • Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Pours in 31 points Friday

Jackson chipped in 31 points (12-23 FG, 7-13 3Pt, 0-2 FT), one rebound, one assist and three steals across 40 minutes during Friday's 123-120 loss to the Lakers.

Jackson led Memphis in scoring while putting up an efficient 7-for-13 line from beyond the arc. The seven triples tied his career-high mark, which he initially established March 20 against the Warriors. As has typically been the case for Jackson, his scoring came with little production as a rebounder or distributor, though he did tie his career-best total with three thefts in Friday's defeat.

  • Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Scores 15 points vs. Detroit

Jackson ended with 15 points (6-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 0-1 FT), three rebounds and four assists across 27 minutes during Friday's 108-90 win over Detroit.

Jackson has been on a very productive stretch in recent weeks, and he's taking advantage of the Grizzlies' rebuild approach to see extended minutes in the final weeks of the season. He's now scored in double digits in 11 straight starts, averaging 17.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists per contest.
