Rockets' Tari Eason: Grabs seven boards in return
Eason (concussion) tallied nine points (4-7 FG, 1-1 3Pt), seven rebounds and one assist in 24 minutes Wednesday in the Rockets' 91-90 win over the Warriors.
Eason had missed the Rockets' previous two games while in the NBA's concussion protocol, but he was cleared to play in advance of Wednesday's NBA Cup matchup. The Rockets ran a short rotation that didn't include either Steven Adams or Jock Landale, so Eason ended up picking up some playing time as a small-ball center when Alperen Sengun was off the court. Eason is likely to see more of his playing time as a backup forward in future games, but his minutes should continue to hold steady in the 20-to-25 range. He didn't contribute any defensive statistics Wednesday, but his season-long averages of 2.0 steals and 1.0 blocks have made him a roster-worthy option in category leagues of 12 teams or deeper.

Rockets' Tari Eason: Clears concussion protocol
Coach Ime Udoka said Tuesday that Eason cleared the concussion protocol, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Eason missed two straight games for the Rockets, but he's expected to have the green light to return against the Warriors on Wednesday. The third-year forward holds averages of 11.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.0 blocks and 2.1 steals through 22 regular-season contests.

Tuesday marked Eason's second double-double of the season, which he achieved in only 25 minutes of court time. His was an almost exact swap for Dillon Brooks for most of the game, although the two played together in the fourth quarter when Eason was on the court for 10 of 12 minutes. He also did the bulk of his damage in the final stanza, posting nine points and eight rebounds.

Eason was extremely active on defense, as is usually the case, which led to a career-high six swipes Wednesday. He was also efficient offensively despite forcing some tough looks. After seeing fewer than 20 minutes in four of his first five appearances this season, Eason's role has increased. In November, he's averaging 13.2 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.4 steals and 1.4 blocks in 25.5 minutes per contest.

With the Rockets running away with this game early, there was a lot of garbage time and that didn't help Eason with Houston going deep into their bench. Despite this muted performance, Eason has been solid in November with averages of 13.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and 1.8 steals.
