Hawks' Larry Nance: Will be re-evaluated in one week
Nance (hand) will be re-evaluated in one week after undergoing hand surgery on Jan. 2.
Nance was initially expected to return after the All-Star break, but the fact that he'll be re-evaluated in a week suggests the big man could be progressing quicker than expected. In any case, don't expect Nance to be a factor in the rotation even if deemed available, so his return shouldn't have a lot of fantasy implications.

Hawks' Zaccharie Risacher: Out two games
The Hawks announced Friday that Risacher (thigh) will miss Atlanta's next two games.
This is a tough blow for the 2024 No. 1 overall pick, and it means he'll miss Saturday's game against Boston and Monday's game against the Knicks. He'll be re-evaluated prior to Wednesday's game against Detroit, and he can be considered questionable for that contest for the time being. Fortunately for Atlanta, De'Andre Hunter (foot) is expected to return from a two-game absence Saturday.

Hawks' Daeqwon Plowden: Returns to parent club
The Hawks transferred Ploweden from the G League's College Park Skyhawks on Friday.
Plowden recorded 11 points (4-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), one rebound, one assist and one block in 22 minutes during Thursday's 123-122 overtime G League loss to the Maine Celtics. However, Plowden will now get an opportunity to crack the Hawks' NBA rotation during Saturday's matchup with Boston.

Hawks' Dominick Barlow: Returns to parent club
The Hawks transferred Barlow from the G League's College Park Skyhawks on Friday.
Barlow tallied 19 points (8-14 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), nine rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in 36 minutes during Thursday's 123-122 overtime G League loss to the Maine Celtics. However, the two-way player will now return to the NBA.

Hawks' Zaccharie Risacher: Out again Saturday
Risacher (adductor) is out for Saturday's game against the Celtics, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
Risacher will miss consecutive games Saturday due to left adductor irritation, and he can be deemed day-to-day ahead of Monday's matchup with the Knicks. In the 2024 No. 1 overall pick's absence against Boston, David Roddy appears primed to make his third start of the campaign after joining Atlanta's first unit in Wednesday's win over Chicago.

Hawks' Trae Young: Probable for Saturday
Young (ribs) has been listed as probable for Saturday's game against the Celtics, Mike Conti of the Atlanta Hawks Radio Network reports.
After missing Wednesday's game against the Bulls, Young is trending toward getting back on the basketball floor Saturday against Boston. In Tuesday's win against the Suns, the superstar guard dropped a season-high 43 points while adding three rebounds, five assists and three steals.

Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Questionable against Boston
Johnson (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game versus the Celtics.
Johnson has missed Atlanta's previous five contests due to right shoulder inflammation. Still, his designation being questionable instead of immediately out is a good sign that he is nearing a return to action. If Johnson is ultimately ruled out yet again, David Roddy should continue to receive increased playing time.

Hawks' De'Andre Hunter: Probable for Saturday
Hunter (foot) is probable for Saturday's game versus Boston.
Trae Young (ribs) is also probable, while Jalen Johnson (shoulder) is questionable, so the Hawks could have some reinforcements versus Boston. Hunter missed the past two games for Atlanta, and he'll be looking to find his form after a slow start to January -- he's hitting 35.5 percent from the field over his last five games.

Hawks' Onyeka Okongwu: Dishes career-high seven assists
Okongwu accumulated 14 points (5-9 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 3-5 FT), 13 rebounds, seven assists, one block and one steal in 27 minutes during Wednesday's 110-94 victory over the Bulls.
Okongwu is coming off back-to-back double-doubles while showing his passing skills in Wednesday's win over Chicago. The 23-year-old dished out a career-high seven assists against the Bulls as he proved he can fill up the stat sheet in more ways than just points and rebounds during a career year with the Hawks.

Hawks' Dyson Daniels: Fills up stat sheet in win
Daniels closed Wednesday's 110-94 win over Chicago with 18 points (7-16 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-7 FT), eight rebounds, three assists, one block and three steals in 34 minutes.
The 21-year-old is having a career year as a starter in Atlanta. He's established himself as one of the league's best defenders, averaging an NBA-high 3.1 steals. He's also getting it done offensively, posting a career-high 13.0 points per game with his best efficiency yet from the field (45.0 percent) and from three (31.6 percent).

Hawks' Bogdan Bogdanovic: Struggles again Wednesday
Bogdanovic finished Wednesday's 110-94 win over Chicago with three points (1-10 FG, 1-9 3Pt) and one assist in 20 minutes.
Bogdanovic continues to play through an ongoing knee issue, something that has been bothering him for the entire season. After playing a crucial role for the Hawks during the 2023-24 season, Bogdanovic has been a shell of his former self for much of the current campaign. Through 19 games, he is delivering modest averages of 10.7 points and 2.1 three-pointers in 25.3 minutes per game.

Hawks' Daeqwon Plowden: Shines in debut Wednesday
Plowden closed Wednesday's 110-94 victory over the Bulls with 19 points (7-8 FG, 5-6 3Pt) and four rebounds over 25 minutes.
Plowden played in an NBA game for the first time in his career, providing the Hawks with a much-needed scoring punch off the bench. He took advantage of the fact Atlanta was short-handed, something that may not last too long. While it is fantastic to see players like Plowden making a name for themselves on the biggest stage of all, it is unlikely to repeat itself any time soon.

Hawks' Keaton Wallace: Erupts in spot start
Wallace racked up 27 points (10-18 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 3-3 FT), six rebounds, six assists and four steals across 38 minutes during Wednesday's 110-94 win over the Bulls.
Wallace downed a career-high 27 points, tallying double digits for just the second time all season. The Hawks were thin in the backcourt, affording Wallace a sizeable role. The four steals also matched his career high, rounding out a prolific night. Assuming the Hawks are close to full strength for their game against Boston on Saturday, Wallace will likely shift back to a bench role.

Hawks' Vit Krejci: Checks back in
Krejci (undisclosed) has returned to Wednesday's game against Chicago.
Krejci went back to the locker room with an undisclosed injury, but he's since checked back into the contest. Krejci should receive as many minutes as he can handle the rest of the way for the shorthanded Hawks.

Krejci went back to the locker room during Wednesday's game against the Bulls, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
The reason for Krejci's exit is unknown, but he'll head back to the locker room for further evaluation. The Hawks are already rather thin due to injuries, though Krejci's departure could mean more minutes for Keaton Wallace, Garrison Mathews and Daeqwon Plowden.

Hawks' Keaton Wallace: Making spot start Wednesday
Wallace is in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Bulls.
Wallace will make his second start of the season Wednesday since Atlanta will be heavily depleted in its backcourt. During his previous start, which came in a 117-116 win over the Celtics on Nov. 12, he finished with seven points, two rebounds and eight assists across 32 minutes.

Roddy is part of the first unit for Wednesday's game against Chicago.
The Hawks are without Trae Young (ribs), De'Andre Hunter (foot), Jalen Johnson (shoulder) and Zaccharie Risacher (hip), leaving a spot in the starting five for Roddy. It'll be Roddy's first start since Oct. 30, when he logged 17 points, four rebounds and two steals across 32 minutes.
