Wizards' Alex Len: Won't play Friday
Len (recently traded) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Cavaliers.

Wizards' Malcolm Brogdon: Now deemed questionable
Brogdon (foot) is listed as questionable for Friday's game versus the Cavaliers.
Brogdon has been upgraded from out to questionable Friday while dealing with a right foot Plantar Fascia contusion. With none of the Wizards' new acquisitions able to debut Friday while their trades are still pending, Brogdon will likely operate as the team's primary backup in the backcourt if he's further upgraded to available.

Wizards' Colby Jones: Won't go Friday
Jones (recently traded) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Cavaliers.
Jones will have to wait to make his Washington debut after having been traded on Thursday. The 22-year-old swingman will likely compete for playing time off the bench in the club's backcourt, and his next chance to debut will come Saturday against Atlanta.

Wizards' Khris Middleton: Won't face Cleveland on Friday
Middleton (recently traded) has been ruled out for Friday's game against Cleveland.
Middleton was recently acquired by the Wizards via trade and will have to wait until at least Saturday's game against Atlanta to make his debut. The veteran swingman will likely remain under a minutes restriction whenever he returns, as the Bucks were still managing his playing time following bilateral ankle surgeries in the offseason. Middleton has surpassed the 30-minute mark only once this season, averaging 12.6 points, 4.4 assists and 3.7 rebounds in 23.3 minutes per game over 23 regular-season appearances (seven starts).

Wizards' AJ Johnson: Won't debut for Washington Friday
Johnson (recently traded) has been ruled out for Friday's game against Cleveland.
Johnson will have to wait to make his Wizards debut, and his next chance to feature will come Saturday against the Hawks. The rookie first-rounder saw the majority of his playing time in the G League for the Bucks, though this trade to the Wizards will likely present him with more opportunities to see the floor.

Wizards' Malcolm Brogdon: Sitting out Friday
Brogdon has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Cavaliers due to right foot plantar fascia contusion management.
Brogdon ultimately stayed put in Washington in the aftermath of the trade deadline, but the Wizards are still likely to build in frequent maintenance days for the veteran guard over the final two months of the season, particularly during busy portions of the schedule. He'll sit out Friday, with the Wizards perhaps aiming to have Brogdon back in action for the second leg of their back-to-back set Saturday versus Atlanta.

Wizards' Alex Sarr: Ruled out for Friday
Sarr (ankle) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Cavaliers.
Sarr has missed the last five games for the Wizards while nursing a sprained left ankle. With the rookie big man still on the mend, Washington could turn to Kyshawn George and Richaun Holmes to help shoulder the load in the frontcourt, especially with Jonas Valanciunas and Kyle Kuzma being traded ahead of Thursday's NBA trade deadline. Alex Len and Tristan Vukcevic may also see a bump in minutes Friday.

Wizards' Colby Jones: Headed to Washington
The Kings traded Jones, Alex Len and a 2028 second-round pick to the Wizards in a three-team deal that also sent Marcus Smart to the Grizzlies, NBA reporter Marc Stein reports.
Jones received limited playing time for Sacramento this season, averaging 1.1 points and 1.0 rebounds in 5.4 minutes across 24 appearances. Jones should compete for depth minutes in the team's backcourt in Washington.

Wizards' Alex Len: Landing with Washington
The Wizards are acquiring Len from the Kings as part of the three-team trade centered around Marcus Smart, NBA reporter Marc Stein reports.
With the Wizards also dealing Jonas Valanciunas and Marvin Bagley ahead of Thursday's deadline, Len is set to compete with Richaun Holmes and Tristan Vukcevic for backup center minutes behind rookie Alex Sarr (ankle). However, Len played just 7.2 minutes per game over 36 appearances (three starts) with Sacramento this season, so his addition is unlikely to cause major waves in Washington's rotation.

Wizards' Marcus Smart: Traded to Washington
The Grizzlies traded Smart and a 2025 first-round pick to the Wizards on Thursday in exchange for two second-round picks, ESPN's Shams Charania reports.
Smart has struggled with injuries this season, limiting him to 19 appearances with the Grizzlies. His playing time was way down as well, as Smart averaged 21.1 minutes per contest with 8.7 points, 3.7 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 1.2 steals while shooting 35.8 percent from the field and 32.2 percent from beyond the arc. In Washington, Smart could have a lot more opportunity as a leader in that backcourt, but he'll be 31 in March and the Wizards are in the early stages of a rebuild. That means player development could be their focus in the final months of the season.

Wizards' Reggie Jackson: Shipped to Washington
The 76ers traded Jackson and a 2026 first-round pick to the Wizards for Jared Butler and four second-round picks Thursday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.
Jackson was operating as a depth piece in Philadelphia's backcourt, averaging 4.4 points, 1.5 assists and 1.4 rebounds in 12.4 minutes across 31 appearances in 2024-25. However, the 34-year-old guard will have his expiring contract moved to Washington, where he is a candidate to be re-routed to a different team or waived. This move gives the 76ers extra draft capital to potentially help facilitate a trade, while the Wizards can consolidate their picks into a first-rounder.

Wizards' Bilal Coulibaly: Posts first triple-double of career
Coulibaly registered 11 points (5-9 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 10 rebounds, 11 assists, one block and two steals across 31 minutes during Wednesday's 119-102 victory over the Nets.
Coulibaly had an impressive showing on both ends of the court and delivered the first triple-double of his young career, making his presence felt and playing a huge role in a game where Jordan Poole had another subpar shooting display. Coulibaly has been very productive of late and is averaging a solid line of 13.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.3 steals per game over his last 10 appearances.

Wizards' Jordan Poole: Poor shooting display Wednesday
Poole accumulated 19 points (6-15 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds, eight assists and one steal across 30 minutes during Wednesday's 119-102 victory over the Nets.
The Wizards clinched the win against the Nets in this battle of likely lottery-bound teams, though fantasy managers won't be completely happy with Poole's display due to his subpar shooting numbers. The shooting woes have been a persistent issue of late, and he's made just 31.7 percent of his shots over his last five games -- a span in which he's averaging a mere 13.2 points, 3.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game.

Wizards' Kyshawn George: Productive in win Wednesday
George ended with 17 points (6-8 FG, 5-7 3Pt), seven rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal over 30 minutes during Wednesday's 119-102 victory over the Nets.
George seems to have settled into a starting role with the Wizards and has been part of the first unit in each of the team's last seven contests, scoring in double digits three times during that stretch. The ups and downs are somewhat expected with a rookie, but George seems to be growing more and more comfortable as the season progresses. George is averaging 8.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game in that aforementioned seven-game span.

Wizards' Alex Sarr: Not playing Wednesday
Sarr (ankle) is now listed as out for Wednesday's game against the Nets.
Sarr was initially ruled out for the contest, then was upgraded to available on the 6:30 ET injury report before ultimately being ruled out again on the 7:30 ET report. Richaun Holmes and Tristan Vukcevic should handle most of the center minutes Wednesday. Sarr's next chance to play will come Friday against Cleveland.
