Giants' Chris Board: Set to join Big Blue
Board is in line to sign with the Giants on a two-year contract worth up to $6 million when the new league year begins Wednesday, Jeff Howe of The Athletic reports.
Board was limited to special teams work in the first half of the 2024 regular season. He saw an increased role in the Ravens' linebacker rotation over the last six games of the regular season, and over that span he registered 22 tackles (12 solo), including 1.0 sacks, and one pass defense. Board should have a similar role in the Giants' linebacker corps in 2025 behind Micah McFadden (ankle) and Bobby Okereke (back).

Ravens' Chris Board: Earns rotational defensive role
Board finished the 2024 regular season with 30 tackles (18 solo), including 1.0 sacks, and one pass defense across 17 games.
Board signed a one-year, $1.29 million contract with the Ravens in March of 2024 after playing for the Patriots in 2023. Board was mostly limited to special-teams work through the first 11 games of the regular season, but he earned a spot in Baltimore's inside-linebacker rotation while Malik Harrison jumped into the starting spot beside Roquan Smith. Board enters the offseason as a free agent and should garner interest from teams looking to add a veteran inside linebacker who can contribute positively to special teams.

Ravens' Chris Board: Collects seven tackles Sunday
Board recorded seven tackles (five solo) during Sunday's 24-19 loss versus the Eagles.
Board played more defensive snaps (29) than teammate Trenton Simpson (21) for the second straight game in Week 13, and he came away with his best tackle total of the season. Right now, he appears to be Baltimore's preferred option to rotate in at inside linebacker after Roquan Smith and Malik Harrison.

Ravens' Chris Board: Returns to practice
Board (concussion) practiced Monday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Board exited Baltimore's preseason opener against the Eagles due to a concussion and was unable to return for the team's second exhibition game Saturday versus Atlanta. However, his return to practice suggests he's cleared protocol. Board is slated to serve as a backup linebacker and special-teams stalwart during the 2024 campaign.

Ravens' Chris Board: Will not return
Board will not return to Friday's preseason game against the Eagles after being tested for a concussion.
It remains unclear whether Board actually sustained a concussion or if Baltimore is just exercising caution during an exhibition game. The journeyman is competing for a depth linebacker role in Baltimore.

Ravens' Chris Board: Back with Baltimore
Board agreed to a contract with the Ravens on Tuesday, Ryan Mink of the team's official site reports.
Board, who spent his first four NFL campaigns with the Ravens after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent in 2018, is coming off a 2023 regular season in which he recorded 10 tackles with the Patriots. In his looming return to Baltimore, the 28-year-old will bolster the depth of the team's linebacking corps while also maintaining his role as a core special-teams contributor.

Chris Board: Gets cut loose
Board was released by the Patriots on Thursday.
Board joined New England on a two-year contract last offseason, but he'll now make his exit from the team a year early. The 28-year-old was strictly a special-teams contributor last season, recording 10 combined tackles in 17 games.

Patriots' Chris Board: Signs with New England
Board signed a a two-year deal with the Patriots on Friday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Board spent last season with the Lions, where he appeared in all 17 games and registered 21 tackles (17 solo) while playing primarily on special teams. The 27-year-old should be expected to have a similar role on his new team, and while Board may not contribute much on defense, he can still provide a lot of value to New England's special-teams unit.
