Eagles' Roderick Johnson: Lands on IR
Johnson (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
The veteran tackle hasn't appeared in an NFL game since 2020 and now, he won't get the opportunity to for the immediate future. Johnson had been battling to make the Eagles' active roster as a depth piece on their offensive line, but his chances just vanished. The 27-year-old will now be forced to miss Philadelphia's entire 2023 campaign unless he's let go with injury settlement.

Roderick Johnson: Cut after coming off COVID list
The Texans released Johnson on Wednesday after activating him from the reserve/COVID-19 list, NFL reporter Aaron Wilson reports.
Johnson landed on the COVID-19 list as a close contact Aug. 13. Over the last three seasons, Johnson appeared in 19 total games for Houston.

Texans' Roderick Johnson: Lands on COVID-19 list
Johnson was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
It's not yet known whether Johnson has tested positive for the virus, but he'll join two of his fellow offensive linemen on the COVID-19 list ahead of Saturday's preseason game against Green Bay. His status for Houston's second preseason game against the Cowboys on Aug. 21 depends on how quickly he can clear the league's health and safety protocols.

Johnson entered Sunday's win over the Chiefs when rookie right tackle Tytus Howard (knee) was removed from the game, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Johnson was flagged for an illegal formation penalty but filled in capably for Howard. The offensive line did not allow a sack for the second straight week, and the team had a season-high 192 rushing yards (4.7 YPC). Howard's injury is described as a partially torn medial collateral ligament, which will not require surgery but is expected to sideline him indefinitely.
