Chiefs' Chamarri Conner: Picks off Cousins in Week 3
Conner tallied 10 tackles (five solo), two passes defended and one interception in Sunday's 22-17 win over the Falcons.
Conner led the Chiefs in tackles Sunday, and his 10 total tackles was a career high in a regular-season game. The 2023 fourth-round safety picked off Kirk Cousins on a pass intended for Kyle Pitts late in the second quarter, which led to a 44-yard field goal by Harrison Butker four plays later. Conner played a season-high 45 defensive snaps and has carved a larger and consistent role for himself in the Chiefs' defense. His 22 total tackles on the year is tied with Nick Bolton for most on Kansas City through the first three games of the regular season.

Chiefs' Chamarri Conner: Has scoop-and-score vs. Cincy
Conner finished Sunday's 26-25 win over the Bengals with six tackles (four solo), including 1.0 sacks, and returned a fumble for a 38-yard touchdown.
Conner played just 29 of the Chiefs' 64 defensive snaps Sunday, but the 2023 fourth-round pick made the most of his playing time. He scooped up a Joe Burrow fumble caused by Tershawn Wharton and returned it for a 38-yard touchdown on the second play of the fourth quarter to give the Chiefs a one-point lead. Conner made another high-impact play late in the fourth frame, when he sacked Burrow for nine yards on third down, which led to a Bengals punt and the eventual game-winning 51-yard field goal from Harrison Butker as time expired. Conner should see plenty of work in pass coverage against Kirk Cousins and the Falcons in Week 3.

Chiefs' Chamarri Conner: Adds DB depth for KC
The Chiefs selected Conner in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 119th overall.
Conner stuffed the stat sheet at Virginia Tech and offers some cornerback-safety versatility at 6-feet, 202 pounds, but his 4.51-second 40 implies a safer fit at safety, especially since Conner lacks standout reach as a corner (31 and 3/8-inch arms). For cornerback reps he might be better suited to zone concepts than man coverage, though that probably sounds just fine to Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, who looks to mix up coverages consistently.
