Top Daniel Bellinger News

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Full practice Wednesday

Bellinger (neck) practiced fully Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Bellinger dealt with a neck injury during Week 8 prep, and while he was cleared to face the Eagles that week, he left that game due to a neck concern. He proceeded to miss every practice last week before being inactive this past Sunday against the 49ers. Now with a full session under his belt, Bellinger appears on pace to return to action Sunday at Chicago.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Inactive in Week 9

Bellinger (neck) is listed as inactive Sunday versus the 49ers, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Bellinger injured his neck last Sunday at Philadelphia, and he then didn't practice all week before the Giants listed him as doubtful to suit up Week 9. Now that Bellinger officially isn't playing, Theo Johnson should dominate TE reps for New York, but Chris Manhertz and Thomas Fidone also will be available for snaps and the occasional target. Bellinger's next chance for game action is next Sunday's contest in Chicago.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Doubtful for Week 9

Bellinger (neck) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the 49ers, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports.

Bellinger suffered the neck injury in last Sunday's loss to the Eagles. With Bellinger unlikely to face San Francisco, Chris Manhertz should handle most of the blocking duties alongside Theo Johnson at tight end.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Missing another practice

Bellinger (neck) didn't participate in Thursday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

With a pair of absences from practice to begin game Week 9 prep, Bellinger looks to be in danger of missing Sunday's against the 49ers. If Bellinger is unable to play this weekend, Chris Manhertz (illness) and Thomas Fidone would be the available depth options at tight end behind Theo Johnson, who played a season-high 98 percent of the offensive snaps in the Giants' Week 8 loss to the Eagles.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Unable to practice

Giants coach Brian Daboll said Bellinger (neck) will not practice Wednesday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.

Bellinger will not practice due to a neck injury sustained during New York's loss to Philadelphia in Week 8. If Bellinger's injury forces him to sit out versus the 49ers on Sunday, No. 1 tight end Theo Johnson will figure to take on an increased workload. With rookie running back Cam Skattebo (ankle) and top wideout Malik Nabers (knee - ACL) both out for the year, the Giants' tight ends corps could become a larger factor on offense going forward.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Sustains neck injury

Bellinger suffered a neck injury during Sunday's contest in Philadelphia, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Bellinger combined for seven catches (on 10 targets) for 140 yards and one touchdown in New York's three games prior to Sunday, and he exited Week 8 action having hauled in his only target for 21 yards. As long as Bellinger is sidelined, Theo Johnson will take on a larger role among Giants tight ends.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Cleared to face Eagles

Bellinger (neck) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Eagles, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Bellinger has the green light to suit up for Week 8. The backup tight end is coming off his best performance of the season Week 7 against the Broncos, a contest in which he secured three of four targets for 88 yards and a touchdown. He has 85 receiving yards across six other appearances this season.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Stays limited Thursday

Bellinger (neck) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Bellinger has been limited in both of the Giants' first two Week 8 practices, so he may need to upgrade to full participation in Friday's session to avoid taking a questionable tag into this Sunday's game in Philadelphia. Though Bellinger has played second fiddle to Theo Johnson throughout the season, the Giants' depleted receiver depth has prompted head coach Brian Daboll to deploy two-tight-end sets more frequently in recent weeks. Bellinger has played more than half of the Giants' offensive snaps in three straight games, recording seven catches for 140 yards and a touchdown on eight targets during that stretch.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Dealing with neck injury

Bellinger (neck) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

It's a new injury for Bellinger, who caught three passes for 88 yards and a TD in Sunday's 33-32 loss to the Broncos. His role as the No. 2 tight end has expanded in recent weeks, but Bellinger could lose playing time once WR Darius Slayton (hamstring) is available.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Best game of season Sunday

Bellinger had three receptions on four targets for 88 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 33-32 loss to the Broncos.

Bellinger finished second in receiving yardage for the Giants a week after garnering zero targets against the Eagles. It was the veteran backup's best receiving line of the season by far, and he made his first trip to the end zone since 2022. Theo Johnson (3-66-1) also produced a fantasy-worthy line, and the latter is also the preferred option in fantasy based on week-to-week usage. The Giants will take on the Eagles for the second time this season next Sunday. Philadelphia held Bellinger to zero catches in Week 6.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Can't build upon season-best effort

Bellinger didn't get any targets in Thursday's 34-17 Week 6 win over the Eagles.

In a Week 5 loss to New Orleans, Bellinger broke out with a season-high and team-leading 52 receiving yards on four catches. That led to an expectation that he would be significantly involved on offense Week 6 with New York depleted at the wideout position, per Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com, but things didn't shake out that way. While Bellinger did log a healthy 57 percent snap share, he never had a pass thrown his way during a game in which New York leaned heavily on its ground game. Meanwhile, No. 1 tight end Theo Johnson caught two of four targets for 27 yards and logged a 90 percent snap share. Though Bellinger has caught every one of his targets so far this season, that's resulted in a very modest 7-85-0 receiving line through six contests.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Leads Big Blue in receiving yards

Bellinger caught all four of his targets for 52 yards in Sunday's 26-14 loss to the Saints.

The 52 receiving yards not only led the Giants on the afternoon, they were a season high for Bellinger, who caught multiple passes in a game for the first time in 2025. The elevated usage came in the wake of Malik Nabers (knee) being lost for the season, as rookie QB Jaxson Dart wasn't able to stretch the field at all -- Bellinger's 18-yard grab in the first quarter was New York's longest completion. Theo Johnson also saw more volume than usual and was on the other end of both of Dart's TD passes, making him the top option for the team at tight end, but Bellinger could see enough targets to have some deep-league utility during a Week 6 clash with the Eagles.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Logs another one-catch effort

Bellinger caught his only target for 13 yards Sunday in a 21-18 win over the Chargers in Week 4.

There wasn't much of a change production-wise for Bellinger with Jaxson Dart making his first start at quarterback for the Giants, as the fourth-year TE saw exactly one target -- and made the catch -- for the third time through four weeks this season. Bellinger (24 offensive snaps) remained well behind Theo Johnson (53 offensive snaps) in the TE pecking order, and that doesn't figure to change after Johnson hauled in Dart's only TD pass Sunday. Bellinger is unlikely to have much fantasy value as long as he remains the second TE option in what has been a mostly tepid New York offense to this point.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Catches lone target Sunday

Bellinger caught his only target for six yards Sunday in a Week 3 loss to the Chiefs.

Bellinger was again clearly behind Theo Johnson in the tight-end pecking order, logging 16 offensive snaps to Johnson's 57. Chris Manhertz also got 13 snaps on offense, so Bellinger seems to be stuck in a relatively minor role on a game-to-game basis. He has just two catches for 20 yards through three weeks, taking him off the fantasy radar almost entirely.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Gets zero targets Week 2

Bellinger did not receive any passing targets Sunday in an overtime defeat against Dallas.

Bellinger now has just one target over the first two weeks of the season. He actually played more snaps on special teams (20) than on offense (19) against the Cowboys, while starting tight end Theo Johnson logged a healthy 84 percent offensive snap share and gathered four receptions on five targets for 34 yards. Johnson has solidified his role as the Giants' top TE early in the campaign, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect Bellinger to have much value barring an injury that propels him up the pecking order.
