  • Rams' Blake Corum: Goes on IR

The Rams placed Corum (forearm) on injured reserve Tuesday.

Corum will be sidelined for the entirety of the Rams' playoff run after he fractured his forearm in Los Angeles' 30-25 loss to Seattle in Week 18. The rookie third-round pick out of Michigan played in all 17 regular-season games this season but saw limited action behind lead back Kyren Williams, finishing with 28 carries for 207 yards to go with seven catches for 58 yards and no touchdowns. He also had some involvement on the Rams' return units, bringing back seven kickoffs for 186 yards. With Corum sidelined for the playoffs, Ronnie Rivers will likely be the No. 2 back behind Williams.

  • Rams' Blake Corum: Sidelined for playoffs

Corum fractured his forearm in Sunday's 30-25 loss to the Rams and will be sidelined for the entire postseason, coach Sean McVay said after the game, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.

The Rams secured the No. 4 seed in the NFC at 10-7, but Corum's rookie season comes to a close at the end of the regular season due to an injury that will keep him out at least through the playoffs. A more concrete recovery timeline will likely be established in the coming days. The 2024 third-round draft pick rushed 58 times for 207 yards and tacked on seven catches for 58 yards (on eight targets) as the backup to Kyren Williams. Ronnie Rivers is the top candidate to step into the second spot on the depth chart.

  • Rams' Blake Corum: Exits Sunday's game

Corum was forced out of Sunday's game against the Seahawks with a forearm injury.

With Kyren Williams being rested along with several other key starters in Week 18, Corum appeared poised to see an expanded workload versus Seattle. However, the running back exited the game after logging just two carries (for 10 yards) and catching his only target for 12 yards. In his absence, Ronnie Rivers and Cody Schrader are available to handle the Rams' backfield duties.

  • Rams' Blake Corum: Could get large workload Sunday

Corum appears primed to handle an expanded role in Sunday's game against the Seahawks, after head coach Sean McVay acknowledged Monday that the Rams are planning to rest key players such as Kyren Williams in the regular-season finale, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports. "There's a handful of guys that could come to mind immediately, but I'm excited about seeing Blake Corum get a heavy workload," McVay said, when speaking about the Rams' approach for Week 18. "I'm excited to see what Cody Schrader is about. I've loved what I've seen from him in some of these practice settings. I think Blake has flashed in some of the opportunities that he's gotten."

Though they can secure the No. 3 seed in the NFC playoffs with a win Sunday, the Rams are assured a home game in the wild-card round regardless of how Week 18 action shakes out. McVay suggested that the Rams are content to prioritize rest and injury avoidance to key players rather than going all in on moving up a spot in the standings, so Williams is an obvious candidate to be a healthy inactive for the contest or play only limited snaps. While Williams has handled a three-down workhorse role for each of the Rams' first 16 games, Corum has seen few opportunities, as the third-round rookie will head into Sunday's contest with a 56-197-0 rushing line and 6-46-0 receiving line for the season. The Rams are likely to sprinkle in Schrader and Ronnie Rivers into Sunday's game plan, but Corum appears most likely to lead the Los Angeles backfield in touches and could make for a useful lineup option in fantasy leagues that are still active in Week 18.

  • Rams' Blake Corum: Plays just three snaps

Corum rushed three times for minus-4 yards during Saturday's 13-9 victory against the Cardinals.

The rookie's role on offense has continually deteriorated over the past five weeks, with his three snaps on offense his lowest usage since he saw just a single offensive snap in Week 9 against the Seahawks. Corum was particularly ineffective against the Cardinals, with only one of his three rushing attempts netting positive yardage. If the Rams are able to clinch a playoff spot prior to their Week 18 contest against Seattle, however, Corum may see an expanded role in hopes of keeping Kyren Williams fresh and healthy for a playoff run.

  • Rams' Blake Corum: Has huge run called back

Corum rushed five times for 14 yards during Sunday's 19-9 victory against the Jets.

The rookie running back ripped off a 32-yard run in the second quarter, only to see it negated by a penalty on TE Hunter Long. Corum was left with his typical numbers otherwise, seeing just nine snaps on offense while Kyren Williams set a season high with 122 yards rushing on 23 attempts, including his 15th touchdown on the year. With the Rams looking to clinch a playoff spot next week, expect Corum's role to continue to remain limited in a Week 17 matchup against the Cardinals.
