Golden Knights' Tomas Hertl: Tallies on power play
Hertl scored a power-play goal on two shots and added three hits in Monday's 4-3 win over the Stars in Game 1.
He won a faceoff back to Noah Hanifin and then went to the net, where Hertl cleaned up a rebound from Hanifin's shot. The goal was Hertl's fifth point in seven contests since he returned from a knee injury. The Golden Knights are fully healthy for the playoffs, and Hertl began the postseason on a line with Chandler Stephenson and Mark Stone, which figures to be the team's top two-way forward trio going forward.

Golden Knights' Tomas Hertl: Contributes helper
Hertl produced an assist in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Blackhawks.
Hertl is up to four points over five games since he made his Vegas debut. The center set up a Brayden McNabb tally to open the scoring late in the second period. Hertl has 38 points, 122 shots on net, 58 hits, 48 blocked shots and a minus-26 rating through 53 appearances between the Golden Knights and the Sharks this season. Hertl looks poised to hold down a second-line role into the playoffs.

The Vegas era of Hertl's career is young, but he's now got two goals and three points in four games. The change of scenery from a rebuilding Sharks team to the playoff-bound Golden Knights should prove beneficial for Hertl, now that he's recovered from a knee injury that cost him over two months.

Hertl has a goal, an assist, 10 hits and a minus-1 rating over three appearances since he returned from a knee injury. The 30-year-old was again the second-line center even with Chandler Stephenson returning from a one-game personal absence -- Hertl took all the faceoffs for his line. The 30-year-old Hertl is at 36 points, 116 shots on net, 59 hits, 48 blocked shots and a minus-27 rating over 51 appearances this season -- it looks like he's fitting right in with his new team.

Hertl notched a power-play assist and four hits in Monday's 4-3 loss to the Canucks.
Hertl returned from a 26-game absence due to a knee injury, and he immediately stepped into a top-six role, logging 20:20 of ice time. The 30-year-old helped out on Noah Hanifin's second-period marker for Hertl's first point as a Golden Knight. Hertl is up to 35 points (10 on the power play) with 114 shots on net, 52 hits and a minus-27 rating over 49 appearances between Vegas and San Jose this season. He played as a winger Monday but still won six of nine faceoffs. Look for Hertl and Chandler Stephenson to essentially be interchangeable between center and left wing as long as they're on a line together.

Hertl (knee) was removed from long-term injured reserve and will play Monday against Vancouver.
Hertl was acquired from San Jose just before the trade deadline and will make his Golden Knights debut Monday. He's been out since Jan. 27 after undergoing minor surgery. The 30-year-old has 34 points in 48 games this season and will dress in a top-six role with Vegas.

Hertl will likely need to be cleared for contact and log at least one full practice before making his Golden Knights debut, but he's clearly trending in the right direction. Hertl (knee) was placed on long-term injured reserve Sunday, per CapFriendly.
Vegas needed to create cap space to recall goaltender Jiri Patera from AHL Henderson on Sunday, so Hertl was moved from IR to LTIR. It's still unclear when Hertl will be able to make his Vegas debut after being acquired from the Sharks on March 8. Hertl hasn't played since Jan. 27 due to a knee injury, but he has been skating on his own recently.

Golden Knights' Tomas Hertl: Acquired by Golden Knights
Hertl, who is on injured reserve with a knee injury, was traded to Vegas from San Jose along with third-round selections in 2025 and 2027 on Friday in exchange for David Edstrom and a 2025 first-round pick. The Sharks will retain 17 percent of Hertl's cap hit, per Darren Dreger of TSN.
Hertl, who is in just the second season of an eight-year, $65.1 million contract, will likely be moved to long-term injured reserve to help Vegas accommodate this trade. The 30-year-old hasn't played since Jan. 27 and underwent knee surgery Feb. 12. When Hertl is healthy, he will become a key figure in Vegas' top-six forward corps. He had 15 goals and 34 points in 48 outings with the Sharks before the trade.
