  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Backing up in Game 7

Contrary to a prior report, Stolarz (upper body) will suit up as the backup for Sunday's Game 7 matchup against the Panthers, according to Terry Koshan of The Toronto Sun. In a surprising turn of events, Stolarz will be an option in goal in the scenario that Joseph Woll falters or gets injured. The 31-year-old Stolarz was hurt in a 5-4 win in Game 1 but has been making strides in his recovery since then. The New Jersey native has a 4-2 record, 2.19 GAA and .901 save percentage over seven appearances in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Remains unavailable

Stolarz (upper body) won't be an option for the Game 7 home matchup versus Florida on Sunday, Jonas Siegel of The Athletic reports. Stolarz has been skating but still hasn't resumed practicing yet. He will miss his sixth straight game and still doesn't have an exact timeline for his return to the lineup. Joseph Woll will start in Game 7 versus the Panthers on Sunday, while Matt Murray will be the backup.

  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Doubtful Friday

Stolarz (upper body) is unlikely to travel to Florida for Game 6 on Friday, Chris Johnston of The Athletic reports. Head coach Craig Berube said Thursday that he doubts Stolarz will make the trip. That would put Joseph Woll in line to start his fourth straight game for the Leafs, who trail the Panthers 3-2 in the best-of-seven series. Stolarz has been skating but is unlikely to return to action unless Toronto manages to play in the Eastern Conference Finals.

  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Without timeline to return

Stolarz (upper body) is progressing in his recovery but remains without a clear return-to-play timeline, David Alter of The Hockey News reports Tuesday. At a minimum, Stolarz should be expected to at least miss Game 5 against the Panthers on Wednesday based on this most recent update, though it could certainly be longer. With the 31-year-old backstop on the shelf, look for Joseph Woll to continue holding down the crease for the Maple Leafs.

  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Still not skating

Per Luke Fox of Sportsnet, Stolarz (upper body) is "progressing" but has yet to return to the ice, according to coach Craig Berube on Saturday. Stolarz was injured in Game 1 and missed Games 2 and 3. It appears that he is doubtful for Game 4 on Sunday in Florida, but he has not been ruled out of Game 5 in Toronto on Wednesday. Stolarz is 4-2 with a 2.19 GAA and a .901 save percentage across seven playoff appearances in 2025.

  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Unlikely to travel for Game 3

Stolarz (upper body) is not expected to travel for Game 3 against the Panthers on Friday, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports. Head coach Craig Berube didn't rule out the possibility of Stolarz making the trip down to Florida for Game 4. Still, the absence of the 31-year-old netminder means that Joseph Woll figures to get the starting nod for Game 3, though that hasn't been officially confirmed yet.

  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Ruled out for Game 2

Stolarz (upper body) has been ruled out for Wednesday's Game 2 at home against the Panthers, David Alter of The Hockey News reports. Stolarz exited Monday's Game 1 due to an upper-body injury, and head coach Craig Berube declined to elaborate on the nature of the issue ahead of Wednesday's game. Berube didn't provide a timetable for Stolarz's return and simply said that the netminder is "recovering." Joseph Woll will serve as the Maple Leafs' starting goaltender Wednesday, while Matt Murray will dress as the backup.

  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Status up in the air for Game 2

Head coach Craig Berube hasn't ruled out Stolarz (upper body) from starting in Game 2 against the Panthers on Wednesday, Jonas Siegel of The Athletic reports Tuesday. When asked about the possibility of Stolarz starting in Game 2, Berube stated in his media availability Tuesday, "Yeah, I don't know that yet. I'll probably find out today." It's a positive turn of events for Stolarz, who was admitted to the hospital Monday but discharged Tuesday morning. If the 31-year-old is unable to suit up Wednesday, Joseph Woll will serve as Toronto's No. 1 netminder, with Matt Murray and Dennis Hildeby also in reserve as insurance options.

  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Discharged from hospital

Stolarz (upper body) has left the hospital and is recovering back home, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports Tuesday. At this point, Stolarz should be considered questionable at best heading into Game 2 against the Panthers on Wednesday. Assuming the netminder is in the concussion protocol, which hasn't been confirmed yet, he will be hard-pressed to get the starting nod in Game 2. If that's the case, Joseph Woll will make his first start since the regular-season finale against Detroit on April 17.

  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Hospitalized after Game 1 injury

Stolarz (upper body) was transported to the hospital to be further evaluated after departing Monday's 5-4 win over Florida in Game 1, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet. In addition to Friedman's report, Chris Johnston of The Athletic relayed that Stolarz left Scotiabank Arena on a stretcher during the third period of Monday's win. Stolarz was also seen getting physically ill during a break in game action prior to his departure. Considering the severity of the situation, Stolarz could be facing an extended absence, and if that's the case, Joseph Woll will take the reins in goal Wednesday in Game 2 and beyond.

  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Exits Game 1

Stolarz is being evaluated for an upper-body injury and will not to return to Monday's Game 1 against the Panthers. Stolarz was replaced by Joseph Woll in the second period after Sam Bennett made contact with Stolarz while driving to the net. Stolarz was able to stay in the game for a short period of time after that collision but was replaced by Woll at 9:46 of the middle frame. Dennis Hildeby joined Toronto's bench to back up Woll due to Stolarz's departure. Stolarz should be considered day-to-day ahead of Game 2 on Wednesday.

  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: In net to start second round

Stolarz will defend the home blue paint Monday against the Panthers in Game 1, according to David Alter of The Hockey News. After winning the Stanley Cup with the Panthers last year, Stolarz will be tasked with eliminating his former club in this second-round Atlantic Division matchup. The 31-year-old helped Toronto eliminate Ottawa in six games in the first round, recording a 2.21 GAA and a .901 save percentage. Stolarz is 1-2-0 with a 3.06 GAA and an .886 save percentage over three career regular-season appearances versus Florida.

  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: In goal versus Sens

Stolarz will get the starting nod on the road for Game 6 against Ottawa on Thursday, Mark Masters of TSN reports. Stolarz has been solid in the postseason, going 3-2 with a 2.25 GAA and .899 save percentage in his five clashes with the Senators. Even in the defeats, the 31-year-old Stolarz has been solid, something he'll need to continue to be if the Leafs are going to close out the series Thursday.

  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Played well in loss

Stolarz made 15 saves Tuesday in a 4-0 loss to Ottawa in Game 5. He allowed two goals. The loss wasn't on Stolarz -- he played well, and he pretty much kept the score 1-0 for most of the game while waiting for his teammates to score. All while Linus Ullmark dazzled at the other end of the ice. Stolarz can't win the games by himself. Still, the Maple Leafs lead the best-of-7 series 3-2, and Game 6 will be in the Sens' barn on Thursday.

  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: In goal for Game 5

Stolarz will get the starting nod at home versus Ottawa in Game 5 on Tuesday, Anna Dua of Sportsnet reports. Through four postseason appearances, Stolarz is sporting a 3-1 record, 2.29 GAA and .902 save percentage. As such, he'll be afforded some leash after giving up four goals on 21 shots in Game 4, staying in the crease for Tuesday's tilt. He'll look to get back on track in this series-clinching Game 5.

  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Loses in overtime

Stolarz made 17 saves in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Senators on Saturday in Game 4. Stolarz was solid all night but fought to see through a sea of bodies on several shots, including the game-winner. Before Saturday's outing, Stolarz had allowed just six goals in three contests in his first postseason as a starter. The Leafs play Game 5 in Toronto on Tuesday with a chance to advance to Round 2 with a win, and he'll likely be in the blue paint.

  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Starting Game 4

Stolarz will guard the road net Saturday in Game 4 against the Senators, Mark Masters of TSN reports. Stolarz will be back between the pipes Saturday as the Maple Leafs look to close out a sweep in Ottawa. The 31-year-old Stolarz has been excellent so far in the series, posting a .926 save percentage and 1.95 GAA through the first three games.

  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Third straight win

Stolarz made 18 saves in a 3-2 overtime win over the Senators in Game 3 on Thursday. Claude Giroux and Brady Tkachuk both beat Stolarz, but he locked the proverbial door otherwise. He has shone this postseason, putting up three straight wins with a 1.95 GAA and .926 save percentage. Stolarz should remain in the crease for Game 4 on Saturday night.

  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Starting in Game 3

Stolarz will defend the road crease in Game 3 against Ottawa on Thursday, Mark Masters of TSN reports. Stolarz has been effective to begin the postseason, picking up back-to-back wins while posting a 1.95 GAA and .934 save percentage over the first two games of the first-round series. He's in the midst of a 10-game winning streak dating back to the regular season, a span that includes three shutout wins. Across that 10-game span, he's posted a 1.48 GAA and .947 save percentage.

  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Difference maker in Game 2 win

Stolarz made 26 saves in a 3-2 overtime win over the Senators on Tuesday. Stolarz made some 10-bell saves Tuesday, especially in the second period when the Leafs really didn't play well. He would have had the win in regulation had the Leafs not coughed the puck up right onto a Senators stick that resulted in a goal with 5:13 left in the third. Stolarz signed in Toronto in the offseason because he had an opportunity to start and potentially win a Cup. Right now, he's looking good on both counts.
