  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Will return to AHL

Greaves will be reassigned to AHL Cleveland following Thursday's 6-1 win over the Islanders, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports. Graves made a great case for himself late in the season, winning the Blue Jackets' last five games of the year. He allowed just four goals on 160 shots in that span, good for a .975 save percentage. He'll head down to Cleveland for the remainder of the Monsters' regular season and playoff run, but the 24-year-old has put himself in position for a spot on Columbus' 2025-26 roster, and potentially even the team's No. 1 job in net.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Tending twine to close out season

Greaves will defend the home crease against the Islanders on Thursday, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports. The Blue Jackets were eliminated from postseason contention when the Canadiens defeated the Hurricanes on Wednesday night, but Greaves will still get the start in Thursday's regular-season finale since Elvis Merzlikins (upper body) remains sidelined. Greaves helped to keep Columbus in the mix for a playoff spot by going 4-0-0 with a 0.75 GAA and .976 save percentage over his last four starts.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Another shutout Tuesday

Greaves turned aside all 29 shots he faced in Tuesday's 3-0 win over the Flyers. The 24-year-old netminder has become a folk hero in Columbus over the last week, winning four straight starts since being recalled from AHL Cleveland and allowing a total of only three goals on 123 shots, picking up two shutouts along the way. Greaves' hot streak has improbably kept the Blue Jackets alive in the playoff race, and they now need a regulation win in their regular-season finale Thursday against the Islanders -- plus a regulation loss by the Canadiens on Wednesday against the Hurricanes -- to claim the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference. Regardless of the availability of Elvis Merzlikins (upper body), Greaves seems certain to get the start Thursday if the game still means something for Columbus.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: In net Tuesday

Greaves will guard the road cage against the Flyers on Tuesday, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports. Greaves has been locked in this month -- he's 3-0-0 with an outstanding .968 save percentage and a 1.00 GAA across three April appearances. The 24-year-old will look to continue his strong play as Columbus is still battling with Montreal for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Greaves turned aside 37 of 39 shots in his lone career appearance against Philadelphia last season, which was a 6-2 win.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Wins third straight start

Greaves stopped 29 of 30 shots in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Capitals. Greaves has started in each of the Blue Jackets' last three games and has been excellent, winning all three and allowing two or fewer goals each time. The 24-year-old isn't expected to maintain this pace over a prolonged stretch, but with only two games left in Columbus' regular-season schedule and a playoff berth at stake, Greaves might remain as the starter for Tuesday's contest at Philadelphia solely based on how good he's been of late. During that three-game stretch, Greaves has posted a 1.00 GAA and an excellent but unsustainable .968 save percentage.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Starting again Sunday

Greaves will defend the road net against Washington on Sunday, per Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site. Greaves is coming off a 22-save performance in Saturday's 7-0 shutout win over the Capitals. With Elvis Merzlikins (upper body) unavailable, Greaves will get the nod again in Sunday's rematch. The 24-year-old Greaves has a 4-2-2 record with a 2.37 GAA and a .921 save percentage in eight NHL appearances this season. Washington is tied for first in the league with 3.54 goals per game in 2024-25.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Records first career shutout

Greaves stopped all 22 shots he faced in Saturday's 7-0 win over the Capitals. With the Blue Jackets needing to win out to have any hope of catching the Canadiens for the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference, coach Dean Evason stuck with the hot hand in Greaves, who made his second start since being promoted from AHL Cleveland. The 24-year-old netminder came through with his first career shutout -- albeit against a Caps squad that was giving Alex Ovechkin the day off. Greaves has allowed two goals on 63 shots in his two starts, and with Elvis Merzlikins (undisclosed) unavailable and potentially having played his last game in Columbus, Greaves might be right back between the pipes Sunday in a rematch with Washington. The Jackets' other goaltending option, Daniil Tarasov, hasn't won a game since March 9.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Back in NHL

Greaves was recalled from AHL Cleveland on an emergency basis Thursday, according to Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site. Elvis Merzlikins was the first goaltender off the ice at practice Thursday but has been ruled out with an undisclosed injury, leaving Daniil Tarasov as Thursday's probable starter with Greaves as his backup. Greaves is 2-2-2 with a 2.83 GAA and a .905 save percentage in six NHL starts this season.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Shipped back to minors

Greaves was returned to AHL Cleveland on Tuesday. Greaves suited up in Monday's clash with the Devils, giving up two goals on 20 shots (.900 save percentage) in a losing effort. Overall, the 23-year-old backstop is 2-2-2 with a 2.83 GAA in six NHL outings this season. The decision to return Greaves to the minors likely points to Elvis Merzlikins rejoining the team ahead of Thursday's clash with Florida.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Starting against New Jersey

Greaves will serve as the starting netminder for Monday's home game against New Jersey, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports. Greaves will make his first start since being called up by the Blue Jackets on Friday, as Elvis Merzlikins (personal) remains sidelined. Over five NHL appearances this year, Greaves has gone 2-1-2 with a 2.98 GAA and .906 save percentage.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Recalled Friday

Greaves was summoned by Columbus on an emergency basis Friday. Greaves has a 2.84 GAA and a .915 save percentage in 34 outings with AHL Cleveland in 2024-25. He also has a 2-1-2 record, 2.98 GAA and .906 save percentage in five appearances with Columbus. His promotion under emergency circumstances suggests that either Elvis Merzlikins or Daniil Tarasov might miss Saturday's home game against the Rangers.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Reassigned to AHL

Greavs was reassigned to AHL Cleveland on Sunday. Greaves was stellar in a win Saturday, stopping 31 of 32 shots against St. Louis. However, the 23-year-old netminder will return to the AHL a day later with Daniil Tarasov returning from a conditioning assignment. Greaves has made five NHL appearances this year, going 2-1-2 with a .906 save percentage and 2.98 GAA.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Excellent in win Saturday

Greaves stopped 31 of 32 shots in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Blues. Greaves has made five starts over the Blue Jackets' last eight games, and he has won the last two after starting that stretch 0-1-2. He has been hit or miss over that stretch, posting a save percentage below .880 three times but above .940 in the other two. He'll continue to battle for playing time in a crowded Columbus crease that tends to lean on the hot hand.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Recalled from minors

Greaves was called up from AHL Cleveland on Friday. Greaves was 1-1-2 with a 3.47 GAA and a .890 save percentage with the Blue Jackets before he was sent to the minors Dec. 23. Columbus sent Daniil Tarasov to the AHL on a conditioning stint in a corresponding move. Greaves was 11-5-3 with a 2.78 GAA and a .914 save percentage across 20 games with Cleveland before his recall.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Sent to minors

Greaves was loaned to AHL Cleveland on Monday. Greaves registered his first win of the season Monday, stopping 27 of 31 shots in a 5-4 win over Montreal. The 23-year-old will rejoin the Monsters, where he's posted an 8-4-2 record, 3.21 GAA and .902 save percentage through 15 AHL appearances in 2024-25.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Battles for win

Greaves stopped 27 of 31 shots in Monday's 5-4 win over Montreal. Greaves got the call instead of Elvis Merzlikins, who was dealing with a minor injury, per Aaron Portzline of The Athletic. Greaves blew leads of 2-0 and 3-1, reminiscent of Saturday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Flyers, but the Blue Jackets countered and overcame a 4-3 deficit for the win. This was Greaves' fourth start and first win at the NHL level this season, but he's also allowed at least four goals in three of his games.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Rejoins NHL club

Greaves was recalled by the Blue Jackets on an emergency basis Sunday. Greaves has made three appearances for the Blue Jackets this year, posting a 0-1-2 record, 3.30 GAA and .896 save percentage. The team hasn't indicated that Elvis Merzlikins or Daniil Tarasov are dealing with injuries, so it's unclear whether Greaves will see any time in the net during his time with the NHL club.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Sent to AHL

Greaves was loaned to AHL Cleveland on Wednesday. Greaves spent the past week with the Blue Jackets. He was effective during his first start Thursday against the Capitals, turning aside 35 of 37 shots (.946 save percentage) in an overtime loss. However, he was less reliable during his subsequent two starts, posting a 0-1-1 record, 4.02 GAA and .862 save percentage against the Ducks and Lightning. The 25-year-old could rejoin the NHL club at some point since the Blue Jackets' other netminders haven't been particularly strong recently, but Elvis Merzlikins and Daniil Tarasov should see most of the playing time between the pipes for now.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Getting lots of reps

Greaves made 27 saves in a 5-3 loss to the Lightning on Tuesday. The game was closer than the score -- the Jackets staged a third-period comeback before the Bolts put in an empty-net goal. Greaves has started three of the team's last four games, and he hasn't recorded a win. But he has made some key saves and impressed his coach. No goalie on the Jackets is a safe play. But at some point, they will need to look at handing the reins to Greaves or Daniil Tarasov to see who emerges from their system.

  • Blue Jackets' Jet Greaves: Falls to Anaheim in OT

Greaves stopped 23 shots in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Ducks. Making his second straight start since being recalled from AHL Cleveland, Greaves didn't get a lot of help from his defense, and Anaheim's OT winner came on an Alex Killorn breakaway. Elvis Merzlikins (3.06 GAA and .888 save percentage) and Daniil Tarasov (4.25 GAA and .857 save percentage) have had shaky starts to the season, so the door could be open for Greaves to work his way to the top of the Columbus depth chart if he can string together some good outings. So far so good for the 23-year-old netminder, who has allowed six goals on 64 shots since his promotion.
