Bryson has earned two helpers over the last three games. The 26-year-old has played in six straight contests and continues to hold the upper hand over Henri Jokiharju and Connor Clifton for a top-four spot. Bryson won't be a factor on the power play and likely won't add much offense, but he looks to be a lineup regular moving forward.

Bryson didn't play in October, but he's been in the lineup in each of the last four games after head coach Lindy Ruff scratched Mattias Samuelsson and Henri Jokiharju. Over his four appearances, Bryson has one assist, 10 blocked shots, four PIM and a plus-2 rating, and the Sabres have given up just six goals. He'll likely remain in a bottom-four role as long as he's in the lineup, but he could head back to the press box as soon as his play slips.

Bryson signed a one-year deal with the Sabres on July 1 after he didn't receive a qualifying offer from the organization. The 26-year-old defenseman is with the big club as injury insurance, but he appears to be No. 8 on the depth chart, and that's led to him receiving no game action with the team's defense corps staying healthy in October. Bryson scored his first goal of the season in Saturday's 3-2 shootout win over the Oilers.
With Buffalo down 2-1 midway through the third period, Bryson scooped up a loose puck in the Edmonton end and flipped it toward the net through traffic hoping for a tip-in. Instead, it glanced off Stuart Skinner's shoulder and into the cage. Bryson has played only 19 NHL games this season and had exactly one goal in each of his first three campaigns for the Sabres, so it's unlikely he'll be adding to his total any time soon.

Bryson danced around the blue line and fed Connor Clifton, who scored his first goal as a member of the Sabres. The tally held up as the game-winner.
