  • Penguins' Vladislav Kolyachonok: Plays in finale

Kolyachonok suited up and logged three hits with a shot on goal and a minus-1 rating in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Capitals. Kolyachonok got back in the lineup after a seven-game stint as a healthy scratch. The 23-year-old ended the campaign with seven points, 20 shots on net, 27 hits, 31 blocked shots, 10 PIM and a minus-12 rating over 35 appearances between Pittsburgh and Utah. Kolyachonok has had trouble establishing himself in the NHL, but he should get a chance to prove himself in training camp next fall, considering the Penguins' blue line was a weak spot this season.

  • Penguins' Vladislav Kolyachonok: Collects first assist with new team

Kolyachonok notched an assist and two PIM in Saturday's 7-3 win over the Devils. Kolyachonok remains listed on the top pairing alongside Kris Letang, but the former had just 12:00 of ice time in Saturday's win. The helper was Kolyachonok's first point as a Penguin, and he's at six points, 17 shots on net, 26 blocked shots, 18 hits and a minus-9 rating over 29 appearances when accounting for his time with Utah earlier in the season.

  • Penguins' Vladislav Kolyachonok: Getting chance to play

Kolyachonok played in his fourth straight game Tuesday in a 3-2 overtime win over the Golden Knights. Kolyachonok was scratched for six straight games after the Penguins plucked him off waivers from Utah. He's since played in the last four games due to injuries to Pierre-Olivier Joseph (upper body) and Ryan Shea (upper body). Kolyachonok was on the top pairing alongside Kris Letang and saw 21:43 of ice time Tuesday. Despite a minus-3 rating across four contests with the Penguins, Kolyachonok looks to be getting an extended audition for 2025-26 -- he's under contract for next season after inking a two-year deal with Utah last June prior to being waived.

  • Penguins' Vladislav Kolyachonok: Claimed off waivers

Pittsburgh claimed Kolyachonok off waivers from Utah on Sunday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports. Kolyachonok recorded two goals, three assists, 12 shots on net, 19 blocked shots, and 14 hits in 23 appearances with Utah during the 2024-25 season. The team planned to assign him to AHL Tucson if he cleared waivers; however, he will now have the chance to play regularly with the Penguins.

  • Hockey Club's Vladislav Kolyachonok: On outside looking in for now

Kolyachonok has been scratched 10 times over Utah's first 12 games in November. While that's not an encouraging workload for the young defenseman, Kolyachonok could be called upon soon to fill in for Maveric Lamoureux (upper body), who is out 4-6 weeks. Juuso Valimaki got first dibs on filling Lamoureux's spot Friday, but the 23-year-old Kolyachonok needs to get in some action. He'd have to go through waivers to be assigned to AHL Tucson. Utah hasn't put much trust in the Belarusian defenseman so far, giving him an average of 13:05 per game over 13 contests, during which he's picked up four points and a minus-6 rating.

  • Hockey Club's Vladislav Kolyachonok: Notches two helpers

Kolyachonok registered two assists and two hits in Monday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Sharks. Kolyachonok helped out on second-period tallies by Matias Maccelli and Mikhail Sergachev. This was Kolyachonok's first multi-point effort in 2024-25, and he shouldn't be expected to make much of an impact on offense from the third pairing. He's at four points, eight hits, seven blocked shots, three shots on goal and a minus-5 rating over 10 appearances, and he may have to compete with Maveric Lamoureux and Juuso Valimaki for consistent playing time.

  • Hockey Club's Vladislav Kolyachonok: Nets equalizer Saturday

Kolyachonok scored a goal on two shots and added two PIM in Saturday's 2-1 overtime win over the Bruins. Kolyachonok tied the game at 1-1 with his goal at 14:51 of the third period. The 23-year-old defenseman has been pressed into a larger role early in 2024-25 as injuries have piled up on Utah's blue line. Through six outings, Kolyachonok has two points, three shots on net, three hits, five blocked shots and a minus-5 rating while seeing time on the third pairing. While he may continue to see steady playing time, he's yet to prove himself productive enough to be helpful in fantasy.

  • Coyotes' Vladislav Kolyachonok: Generates assist

Kolyachonok produced an assist, two shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 6-5 loss to the Flames. Kolyachonok has three points over his last three contests, and he's blocked five shots in that span. The 22-year-old is holding down a third-pairing role to close out the NHL campaign. He doesn't offer much upside outside of DFS formats for Wednesday's game versus the Oilers, but he could compete for a full-time job in 2024-25.

Kolyachonok has gone 13 games without a point since scoring his first NHL goal. Kolyachonok's been limited to a third-pairing role, so it's not surprising to see him struggle to get on the scoresheet. The 20-year-old Kolyachonok has earned both of his assists this season in the last three games. The Coyotes seem committed to playing him while he's on the active roster, though he's seen sheltered minutes on the third pairing as he acclimates to the NHL. The second-round pick from 2019 has added five shots on net, 13 hits, five blocked shots and a minus-1 rating in seven appearances.
