    Thought my No streak on pitchers was doomed last night, but the Rockies rallied late to take the Cubs' Shota Imanaga off the W hook. Good news ($$), bad news (another dang Cubbies loss) type of deal. Rather enjoying these because I'm rooting somewhat differently than I usually do. For example, bullpen is often a curse word to me but leaky pens have helped me on these props. Might Shohei Ohtani sit on a hot night after pitching and hitting on Wednesday? Very possible and that would lessen Justin Wrobleski's chances of earning a W. He has been excellent, no doubt, but all I'm asking for is a ND,

    Analysis

    Seventh road game in a row without a day off for the Mariners, who were routed on Wednesday and got some bad news pre-game when maybe the best setup man in the majors, Matt Brash (3-0. 0.54 ERA), was placed on the IL. Thursday starter Bryan Woo has dominated at home but is 1-4 with a 5.08 ERA away. He was hit hard last time out in Detroit. Wednesday's win snapped a four-game skid for the O's. Pete Alonso stayed hot with a homer. Kyle Bradish goes tonight, and he has a 2.38 ERA at home with four straight quality starts at Camden Yards. As home dogs, the Orioles are an excellent 12-5 ATS.

    Analysis

    DraftKings. Kyle Bradish takes the bump at Camden Yards today, where he’s stayed under this line in six of seven starts. Overall, he’s allowed just 28 hits in 41.2 home innings this season. Pitching in his first full season since 2023, the big righty’s .233 xBA has him in the 62nd percentile, helped by a 52% ground ball rate (82nd percentile). He’ll take on the Mariners who only hit .238 against ground-ball pitchers, and as a team struggle with breaking balls, hitting a combined .200 against righties sliders and curveballs (50% of Bradish’s arsenal).

    Analysis

    Caesar’s. After two clean starts to begin his Cubs tenure, Edward Cabrera has pitched to a 6.26 ERA over his last nine starts, including staying under this outs line in each of his last four outings. His barrel rate of 12.9% (4th percentile) and xBA of .262 (25th percentile) won’t help him today in the hitting conditions of Coors Field. Cabrera will face a Rockies lineup that should be able to start six lefties, Cabrera’s traditionally worse split (including from a pitch efficiency standpoint).

    Analysis

    As a Cubs fan, clearly I'm willing this pick today because I can't possibly understand how a team that had the best record in baseball is about to slip under .500 and get swept by the Rockies. If Chicago manager Craig Counsell wasn't making a boatload of money on a five year deal, I would think he would have been fired by now. I know this team is a train wreck, but I have to think the Cubs show some heart today or it's time to throw in the towel on the rest of the 2026 season.
