Here are some news and notes from around the Pac-12 ...
- Oregon's defensive line has been a terror for opponents this season, Aaron Fentress of The Oregonian said. The Ducks have 16 sacks and push one another for more -- and the competitiveness has trickled throughout the defense. "We get excited and then when we get to the sideline," defensive tackle Ricky Heimuli told Fentress. "We're, 'Aww, I hate you. I'm going to get the next one. Just you wait and see.' "
- Morgan Breslin has been an immediate standout on the USC defensive line, Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times writes. Breslin, the soft-spoken junior college transfer, leads the Pac-12 in sacks.
- UCLA hasn't won at Cal since 1998, but Jordan Zumwalt's return at linebacker should help them Saturday, Miguel Melendez of the Los Angeles Daily News writes. Zumwalt was injured in a scooter accident and a facial laceration cost him a game, but he fits back into the starting lineup and pushes Damien Holmes -- who had three sacks against Colorado -- back inside.
- Utah is expecting big things from the USC offense. As such, they're preparing for it all, writes Lya Wodroska of the Salt Lake Tribune. "We are ready for everything," safety Eric Rowe said. "Everything they throw at us, we are ready. We have schemed it all, have it all planned out, so nothing is going to work against us."
- Colorado is mending from some old wounds, John Henderson of The Denver Post writes. Coach Jon Embree said the Buffaloes are healthier than they've been in a long while.
