Texas Tech vs. TCU updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Thursday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Texas Tech vs. TCU football game
The TCU Horned Frogs and the Texas Tech Red Raiders are set to square off in a Big 12 battle at 7:00 p.m. ET on November 2nd at Jones AT&T Stadium. TCU is expected to lose this one by three points, so we'll see if that gives them a bit of motivation.
TCU gave up the first points and the most points last Saturday. It's going to take some time for them to recover from the 41-3 bruising that Kansas State dished out last Saturday. TCU was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-3.
Despite the loss, TCU got a solid performance out of Emani Bailey, who rushed for 100 yards on only 12 carries.
Meanwhile, the point spread may have favored Texas Tech last Saturday, but the final result did not. They took a 27-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of BYU. Despite 112 more yards than BYU, Texas Tech couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Texas Tech's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Xavier White, who picked up 98 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Tahj Brooks who rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown. White's longest reception was for an incredible 72 yards.
TCU has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Texas Tech, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.
In addition to losing their last games, both teams failed to cover the spread. Looking forward to Thursday, Texas Tech is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by three points. Anyone thinking of taking them against the spread should keep this in mind: the team hasn't covered the last three times they've played TCU.
TCU was able to grind out a solid victory over Texas Tech in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, winning 34-24. The rematch might be a little tougher for TCU since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
