Wisconsin vs. Nebraska: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Wisconsin vs. Nebraska football game
The Nebraska Cornhuskers are 0-5 against the Wisconsin Badgers since October of 2015, but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. Nebraska will take on Wisconsin at 3:30 p.m. ET at Camp Randall Stadium after a week off. The Badgers should still be riding high after a big victory, while the Cornhuskers will be looking to regain their footing.
Nebraska came up short against the Ohio State Buckeyes two weeks ago, falling 26-17. Nebraska's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of WR Samori Toure, who caught four passes for one TD and 150 yards, and QB Adrian Martinez, who passed for one TD and 248 yards on 31 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 51 yards. Near the top of the highlight reel was Martinez's 72-yard TD bomb to Toure in the second quarter.
Meanwhile, when you finish with 258 more yards than your opponent like Wisconsin did last week, a favorable outcome is almost sure to follow. They were the clear victors by a 35-7 margin over the Northwestern Wildcats. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 21 to nothing. RB Braelon Allen had a stellar game for the Badgers as he rushed for three TDs and 173 yards on 25 carries.
Wisconsin's defense was a presence as well, as it collected four interceptions. Those interceptions were spread across their defensive unit.
The Cornhuskers are expected to lose this next one by 9.5. However, those who like betting on the underdog should be happy to hear that they are 3-0 against the spread when expected to lose.
Nebraska is now 3-7 while Wisconsin sits at a mirror-image 7-3. A couple stats to keep an eye on: Nebraska is 176th worst in the nation in thrown interceptions, having thrown eight on the season. The Badgers have experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the game with the 221st most thrown interceptions in the nation, having thrown 11 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
