The Phillies reinstated Wilson (personal) from the paternity list Wednesday. Wilson missed two games following the birth of his child. Now that he's back with the Phillies, Wilson will return to a bench role, though he could see occasional starts against left-handed pitching. Wilson owns a .480/.481/.880 slash line over 27 plate appearances versus southpaws this season.... See More ... See Less

Phillies' Weston Wilson: Goes on paternity list
The Phillies placed Wilson on the paternity list Monday. Wilson will be away from the Phillies for between one and three games while he welcomes a new addition to his family. The 29-year-old has been with the Phillies since being called up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on July 12 and has produced a 1.017 OPS over 54 plate appearances at the big-league level this season while primarily operating as a short-side platoon player.... Phillies' Weston Wilson: Swipes second bag
Wilson went 2-for-4 with a run and a stolen base in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Nationals. The 29-year-old drew his third straight start in left field as Washington sent a third consecutive southpaw to the mound, and while Wilson didn't hit for the cycle as he did Thursday, he still put together a productive effort that included his second steal of the year. Since moving into a short-side platoon role in August, he's gone 8-for-15 (.533) with four extra-base hits, two RBI and five runs.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Weston Wilson: Hits for cycle in win
Wilson went 4-for-5 with a double, a triple, a home run and three runs scored as he completed the cycle in Thursday's win over the Nationals. Wilson tripled to lead off the fourth and also singled in the frame as the Phillies mounted a five-run inning against Mitchell Parker. The rookie outfielder would then add a homer and a double in his next two at-bats, becoming the first Phillies rookie to ever hit for a cycle. It also marked the first four-hit performance of Wilson's big-league career and he's hit safely in four straight games, with at least one RBI in each one.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Weston Wilson: Delivers three hits in loss
Wilson went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Friday's 8-7 loss to the Pirates. Wilson extended the Phillies lead to 3-0 with an RBI single in the first inning before launching a solo home run off Martin Perez in the third, his first long ball this year. The 29-year-old utility player had gone just 1-for-8 in four games before Friday's outburst. Following Whit Merrifield's release, Wilson should remain with the Phillies in a bench role, and he could see the occasional start against left-handed pitching. He has displayed some power at the minor-league level, slugging 31 home runs last year with Triple-A Lehigh Valley before slashing .240/.340/.487 with 18 homers in 71 games at the level this season.... Phillies' Weston Wilson: Back with Philly
The Phillies recalled Wilson from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday. The 29-year-old was up with the Phillies for a couple weeks in June but appeared in just two games. Wilson will rejoin the big club just ahead of the All-Star break and should fill a utility role with Whit Merrifield having been released.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Weston Wilson: Optioned to Triple-A
The Phillies optioned Wilson to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports. Wilson saw one start during his brief stint with the big club, going 0-for-4 at the plate. He's headed back to the minors to make room on the roster for Brandon Marsh, who was activated from the 10-day injured list Saturday.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Weston Wilson: Recalled to majors
The Phillies recalled Wilson from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Monday, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Wilson has hit eight home runs and stolen nine bases with Lehigh Valley this season but has slashed only .211/.295/.389 across 51 contests. The 29-year-old is capable of playing all over the diamond but seems unlikely to garner much playing time with the Phillies.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Weston Wilson: Healthy at Triple-A
Wilson (hand) has appeared in each of Triple-A Lehigh Valley's first three games of the season, going 2-for-9 with a double and an RBI. Wilson exited the Phillies' March 21 Grapefruit League game after being hit on the left hand by a pitch and was optioned to the minors a day later, but he avoided any sort of major injury and was deemed good to go for the start of the Triple-A season.... Phillies' Weston Wilson: Sent to minor-league camp
The Phillies optioned Wilson (hand) to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday. Wilson exited Thursday's Grapefruit League game after being hit by a pitch on the left hand, and he'll make his way to minor-league camp a day later. The specifics of the injury remain unclear, though the 29-year-old was scheduled to undergo an X-ray.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Weston Wilson: Exits after HBP
Wilson was removed from Thursday's Grapefruit League game against the Rays after getting hit in the left hand by a pitch, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports. Manager Rob Thomson said Wilson went in for imaging after getting hit and everything looked good, but Wilson will still receive an X-ray on his hand just to be safe. Wilson is slashing .241/.361/.414 through 36 plate appearances this spring, and there's a good chance he returns to Triple-A to begin the season.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Weston Wilson: Excluded from NLDS roster
Wilson isn't on the Phillies' roster for the NLDS, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports. Wilson was listed on the Phillies' roster for the wild-card series, but he didn't appear in either game versus the Marlins. He will be replaced by Michael Lorenzen as Philadelphia opts to carry 13 pitchers.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Weston Wilson: Swipes two bags Saturday
Wilson went 2-for-4 with a run scored, an RBI and two stolen bases in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Mets. Getting the start at third base and batting seventh, Wilson flashed the speed that allowed him to rack up 32 steals in 38 attempts over 125 games for Triple-A Lehigh Valley this season. The 29-year-old utility player couldn't repeat his success in the nightcap however, going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts while seeing time at first and second base. With the Phillies already locked into the No. 4 seed in the National League playoffs and set to host a wild-card series beginning Tuesday, Wilson could get one more start Sunday as the team rests its regulars ahead of the postseason.... Phillies' Weston Wilson: Optioned to Triple-A
Wilson was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Thursday. He's clearing out to make room for Trea Turner's return from paternity leave. Wilson drew a walk in his lone plate appearance during his brief stint in the big leagues.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Weston Wilson: Sent down Sunday
Wilson was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley following Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Nationals, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports. Wilson spent two weeks with the major-league club but played in just four games and went 2-for-6 with a homer, three runs, an RBI and a stolen base. He should have the chance to see more consistent playing time with the minor-league club.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Weston Wilson: Fills up box score in debut
Wilson went 1-for-1 with a solo homer, two additional runs scored and a steal in Wednesday's 7-0 victory over the Nationals. It was a debut to remember for the 28-year-old rookie after he spent nearly seven years in the minors. Wilson launched a 429-foot solo homer off MacKenzie Gore in his first MLB at-bat before reaching twice via walks and adding a stolen base. Wilson posted some intriguing numbers with Triple-A Lehigh Valley this season, batting .260 with 25 home runs and 23 steals across 100 games. Still, he'll likely be limited to a platoon role with the Phillies while Brandon Marsh (knee) is sidelined.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Weston Wilson: Batting seventh in MLB debut
Wilson is starting in left field and batting seventh in his major-league debut Wednesday versus the Nationals. Wilson was called up to the Phillies on Sunday after posting a shiny .884 OPS with 25 homers and 23 steals through 100 games this season for Triple-A Lehigh Valley. He'll probably play sparingly, though, and can safely be ignored in most fantasy formats. Kyle Schwarber is getting a rare day off Wednesday.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Weston Wilson: Undergoes season-ending surgery
Wilson was recently placed on the 60-day injured list by Triple-A Nashville and underwent surgery Tuesday to address thoracic outlet syndrome, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Wilson has been sidelined since early August and will now miss the rest of the season after undergoing the procedure. The 26-year-old enjoyed a strong season at Triple-A with a .267/.354/.548 slash line and 16 homers in 70 games. The surgery typically carries a lengthy recovery, so he may not be ready for spring training or the start of the 2022 campaign.... See More ... See Less
