Siri agreed to a one-year, $2.4 million contract with the Mets on Thursday, avoiding arbitration, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports. Acquired from Tampa Bay early in the offseason, Siri's glove is likely to earn him regular playing time in the Mets' outfield in 2025. That being said, it will be hard for fantasy managers to trust him after he hit just .187 with a 37.9 percent strikeout rate over 402 at-bats last season.... See More ... See Less

Mets' Jose Siri: Heading to National League
Siri was traded from the Rays to the Mets on Tuesday in exchange for Eric Orze, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports. Siri is eligible for arbitration and the Rays may have been on the fence about paying him coming off of a year where he hit .187 with a 37.9 percent strikeout rate. He turned 29 in July and was worth 2.6 fWAR as recently as 2023, so the Mets will bring him in to potentially take over center field duties with Harrison Bader a free agent.... See More ... Rays' Jose Siri: Not in Wednesday's lineup
Siri is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Red Sox. Siri hit a home run and drove in four runs in Tuesday's win over Boston, but he nonetheless finds himself on the bench a day later. Jonny DeLuca will patrol center field for Tampa Bay on Wednesday.... See More ... See Less -
Rays' Jose Siri: Taking seat Sunday
Siri is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians. Siri went 3-for-7 with a double, a triple and three strikeouts while starting the previous two games of the series, and he'll head to the bench for the finale. Jonny DeLuca will shift to center field while Dylan Carlson receives a start in left.... See More ... See Less -
Rays' Jose Siri: Snaps out of slump
Siri went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple and a run scored Friday against the Guardians. Siri has struggled considerably across the last three weeks, going just 5-for-46 with a 42 percent percent strikeout rate. He's still started 13 of 21 games in center field in that span but has ceded some playing time to the combination of Jonny DeLuca and Dylan Carlson.... See More ... See Less -
Rays' Jose Siri: Not in Tampa Bay lineup
Siri is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in Cleveland, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. The Rays will go with Jonny DeLuca in center field for the series opener. Siri is just 1-for-24 with 11 strikeouts so far in September.... See More ... See Less -
Rays' Jose Siri: On pine Friday
Siri is not in Friday's lineup against the Orioles. Siri, who had started four of the last six games -- all against righties -- will head to the bench against righty Dean Kremer. Jonny DeLuca is starting in center field and batting sixth.... See More ... See Less -
Rays' Jose Siri: Taking seat Monday
Siri is not in the lineup for Monday's game in Seattle, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Siri has started every other game over the last six contests as he shares center field with Jonny DeLuca and occasionally Kameron Misner. It will be DeLuca patrolling center field and batting sixth for the Rays on Monday.... See More ... See Less -
Rays' Jose Siri: Getting afternoon off
Siri is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Athletics. Siri had started in each of the Rays' last three matchups with right-handed pitchers and slugged home runs both of the past two nights, but he will take a seat for Thursday's matinee game while the Athletics send righty Osvaldo Bido to the hill. Kameron Misner checks in for Siri in center field.... See More ... See Less -
Rays' Jose Siri: Clubs homer in win
Siri went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 1-0 win over the Athletics. Siri took Oakland starter Joey Estes deep in the eighth inning for the lone run of the game. Prior to Tuesday, Siri was 0-for-19 across his last eight games, a slump that had started to cost him playing time in center field. The outfielder is up to 15 homers through a career-high 105 contests this season, but he's slashing just .195/.268/.375 with 39 RBI, 41 runs scored and 12 stolen bases. Jonny DeLuca and Kameron Misner have most often replaced Siri in center field, though the Rays have not deployed a strict platoon at the position.... See More ... See Less -
Rays' Jose Siri: Absent from lineup again
Siri is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against Arizona, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Siri will sit for a second straight contest and for the fifth time in nine games. Dylan Carlson, Jonny DeLuca and Josh Lowe will start in the outfield for Saturday's contest.... See More ... See Less -
Rays' Jose Siri: Not starting Thursday
Siri isn't in the Rays' lineup for Thursday's game against St. Louis, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Despite putting together a five-game hitting streak, during which he's gone 6-for-18 and stolen two bases, Siri will get a day off for Thursday's series finale. While he rests, Josh Lowe, Jonny DeLuca and Dylan Carlson will start across the Rays' outfield.... See More ... See Less -
Rays' Jose Siri: Swipes two bags in loss
Siri went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Cardinals. Despite his best efforts to get into scoring position, the bottom of the Tampa Bay order couldn't bring Siri home. The center fielder is up to 12 steals on the season to go with 14 homers in 95 games, but he simply doesn't make enough contact to be a consistent fantasy contributor -- over 14 games since the All-Star break, Siri's slashing .213/.260/.362 with a 38.0 percent strikeout rate.... Rays' Jose Siri: Hitting bench amid slump
Siri is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins. Siri will hit the bench for the second time in three games while he's yet to break out of his ongoing funk at the plate. Over his last five starts, Siri has gone 1-for-18 with nine strikeouts and no walks. Jonny DeLuca will spell him in center field and bat seventh.... See More ... See Less -
Rays' Jose Siri: Taking seat Sunday
Siri is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Siri has gone 5-for-30 with 11 strikeouts in eight games since the All-Star break and will head to the bench for Sunday's game. Richie Palacios, Jonny DeLuca and Josh Lowe will start from left to right in the outfield for the series finale versus Cincinnati.... See More ... See Less -
Rays' Jose Siri: Picks up 10th steal
Siri went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base in Friday's loss to the Reds. Siri drove in the first run of the night for the Rays and then got in scoring position himself in the eighth inning after a single and stolen base, but they couldn't capitalize. Since hitting a grand slam May 12, Siri has been much better at the plate with 12 homers and a .748 OPS in his last 54 games. With the recent trade of Randy Arozarena, Siri's spot in the Rays outfield is even more secure.... See More ... See Less -
Rays' Jose Siri: Three homers in last five games
Siri went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk Monday against the Yankees. Siri accounted for the Rays' only run of the afternoon, slugging his 14th homer of the season. He has three long balls in his last five games and has also chipped in a pair of stolen bases across 14 games in July.... See More ... See Less -
Rays' Jose Siri: Pops first homer of July
Siri went 1-for-3 with a solo home run Sunday against the Guardians. Siri has struggled in July, collecting only five hits across 35 at-bats while striking out 12 times. Nevertheless, he managed to go into the All-Star break on a positive note by tallying his 12th home run of the season. Siri has retained the starting job in center field for most of the first half, though he could be pused for playing time by Jonny DeLuca if his struggles at the plate persist.... See More ... Rays' Jose Siri: Not starting Saturday
Siri isn't in the Rays' lineup Saturday against the Guardians, Steve Carney of StPeteNine.com reports. After going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts Friday, lowering his batting average to just .125 (4-for-32) since the start of July, Siri will get a chance to regroup Saturday while Jonny DeLuca starts in center field.... Rays' Jose Siri: Heading to bench Sunday
Siri is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at Texas, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports. Siri is mired in a 1-for-23 slump and will take a seat for Sunday's series finale. Jonny DeLuca will start in center field and bat seventh against Rangers righty Nathan Eovaldi.... See More ... See Less

Mike Puma@NYPost_Mets4D agoA.J. Minter's addition to the Mets bullpen likely means they won't further pursue Tanner Scott, I am hearing. Team officials recently met with Scott, who is considered the top reliever on the free agent market.

Michael Baron@michaelgbaron4D agoPer multiple reports, the #Mets signed LHP AJ Minter to a two-year, $22 million contract. Signed away from the #Braves. 2.62 ERA in 39 appearances last year. Thought this was a good fit all along. Big addition on the left side of the bullpen.
