Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Gets surgery Wednesday
Prescott underwent surgery Wednesday to address the partial avulsion of his right hamstring, David Moore of The Dallas Morning News reports.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Prescott will likely need three months to fully recover from surgery, which means that he should be ready for some, if not all, of the offseason program. With his 2024 season over, he'll finish with 1,978 yards, 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions on 64.7 percent passing and 13 carries for 54 yards and one touchdown in eight appearances. Cooper Rush will continue to direct the Cowboys offense, but the potential exists for Trey Lance to see time under center or even start at some point over the final eight contests of the regular season.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Season-ending surgery confirmed
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said that Prescott will undergo season-ending surgery in New York on Wednesday to address a partial avulsion of his right hamstring, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
After seeking one final medical opinion on his hamstring Monday, Prescott has elected to proceed with surgery rather than treating the injury through rest and rehab. According to Jones, Prescott's long-term prognosis is "wonderful," and while the quarterback will miss the remainder of the season, he should be ready to go for training camp, if he isn't fully cleared for OTAs. Cooper Rush started under center in Sunday's loss to the Eagles and will again direct the offense in Week 11 against the Texans, though it wouldn't be surprising if the Cowboys also gave an extended look to Trey Lance at some point. Prescott will conclude his ninth NFL campaign with a 64.7 percent completion rate on 286 pass attempts for 1,978 yards, 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions to go with 54 yards and a touchdown on 13 rushing attempts over his eight appearances.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: One more meeting with doctor on tap
Prescott, who has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Eagles, will meet with another specialist Monday before a decision is made on whether he'll undergo season-ending surgery to address a partial avulsion of his right hamstring, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Prescott has already sought several medical opinions on his injury, with all having reportedly recommended surgery. He'll meet with one final medical expert Monday, but if the doctor agrees with the previous assessments of his injury, Prescott will undergo surgery Wednesday, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. An official recovery timeline wouldn't be provided until surgery is completed, but a procedure of this sort typically entails about a four-month recovery period. Cooper Rush will take over as the Cowboys' starting quarterback in Week 10, and the Cowboys could also deploy certain packages that take advantage of backup Trey Lance's rushing ability.
