Tunsil was a DNP on Wednesday, but at that time head coach DeMeco Ryans sounded confident he'd practice at some point and be ready to serve as the left tackle in Sunday's home game against Buffalo. Per Pro Football Focus, Tunsil has been responsible for 2.0 sacks and one hurry through four games and ranks ninth in the NFL in pass blocking.

Texans' Laremy Tunsil: Sits out Wednesday's practice
Tunsil (ankle) did not practice Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Tunsil sprained his ankle last week against the Jaguars and was able to finish out the game after getting checked by trainers. "Yeah, day to day," Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said of running back Joe Mixon (ankle) and Tunsil. "We will see tomorrow, see how it goes. We didn't have those guys out at practice today so we will see tomorrow, see how the rest of the week goes with Laremy and Joe." Wilson added that Tunsil is expected to practice at some point and play Week 5 against Buffalo.

Tunsil left Sunday's game against Jacksonville due to an ankle injury and is questionable to return.
Tunsil went to the locker room after being checked on by trainers in the blue medical tent. Rookie second-round pick Blake Fisher has come in for Tunsil at left tackle.

Tunsil is fully healthy, but the team is taking a prudent approach. Blake Fisher, a 2024 second-round draft pick that will serve as a swing tackle during the regular season, is filling for Tunsil on the first-team offense.

Tunsil underwent an offseason knee scope in February, which typically comes with a recovery timeline of 4-to-6 weeks. With Tunsil now well removed from surgery, he's expected to be available to participate in preseason games, even if the Texans take it slow with their starting left tackle early in training camp.

Tunsil underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in February and appears to still be on the mend. However, the Ole Miss product is still expected to be ready to compete when training camp starts in late July.
