Bengals' Chase Brown: Bruised rib in win over Las Vegas
Coach Zac Taylor said Monday that Brown suffered a bruised rib in Sunday's win over the Raiders, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
Brown briefly exited Sunday's win but quickly returned and went on to set career highs in carries (27), rushing yards (120) and receptions (five), totaling 157 yards and one touchdown on his 32 touches. Meanwhile, Trayveon Williams didn't handle a single carry or target as the backup. With Zack Moss (neck) now out indefinitely, according to Taylor via Adam Schefter of ESPN, Brown looks like a locked-in every-down back moving forward, assuming his rib injury isn't serious. The Bengals have a quick Week 10 turnaround with a road game against the division-rival Ravens on tap for Thursday night.

Bengals' Chase Brown: Estimated as full participant
Brown (rib) was listed as a full participant on Monday's practice estimate.
Per Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network, Brown suffered a bruised rib in Sunday's win over the Raiders, but the running back's listed full participation a day later indicates that his availability for Thursday night's game against the Ravens is not in danger. With Zack Moss on track to miss time with a neck injury, Brown appears poised to maintain a heavy workload versus Baltimore and likely beyond, after logging a career-high 27 carries against Las Vegas.

Bengals' Chase Brown: Capitalizes on lead-back role
Brown rushed 27 times for 120 yards and brought in all five targets for 37 yards and a touchdown in the Bengals' 41-24 win over the Raiders on Sunday.
With Zack Moss (neck) sidelined, Brown essentially had the Bengals backfield to himself. The second-year back mustered career highs in both rush attempts and rushing yardage, and he recorded his second receiving touchdown of the campaign on an impressive one-yard catch in the back of the end zone late in the first quarter. Brown had already been trending toward the No. 1 back role -- Sunday marked his sixth straight game with double-digit carries -- and given the returns he provided against the Raiders, Brown should remain atop the ground attack irrespective of Moss's status for a Week 10 road matchup against the Ravens on Thursday night.

Bengals' Chase Brown: Three-down role likely awaits
Brown is expected to take on the majority of the snaps out of the Cincinnati backfield in Sunday's game against the Raiders with Zack Moss (neck) inactive for the contest, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
Brown had already played 48 percent of the snaps or more in each of the last three games while outproducing Moss and seemingly emerging as Option 1A in Cincinnati's backfield timeshare, but the absence of Moss for Week 9 should pave the way for Brown to see his most significant playing time to date. Cincinnati's other active running backs include special-teams standout Trayveon Williams and practice-squad call-up Kendall Milton, neither of whom have logged a snap on offense in 2024. Expect the backups to be sprinkled in lightly while Brown likely handles a three-down role, at least for as long as Sunday's contest stays competitive.

Bengals' Chase Brown: Added touches likely with Moss hurt
Brown is likely to see the lion's share of touches in the Bengals backfield Sunday against the Raiders, as Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports that Zack Moss (neck) is listed as doubtful for that contest.
Brown stands to benefit from Moss's surprise addition to the injury report Friday. While Moss has been on hand to split backfield duties, Brown has played more than half of Cincinnati's offensive snaps only twice this season, and Brown was on the field for 48 percent of snaps Week 8 against the Eagles compared to Moss's 52 percent. If the Bengals continue to distrust Brown's pass protection, that could create an opportunity for Trayveon Williams to play a meaningful role against the Raiders as well.

Bengals' Chase Brown: Salvages day with TD
Brown rushed 12 times for 32 yards and a touchdown and brought in two of four targets for four yards in the Bengals' 37-17 loss to the Eagles on Sunday.
Brown outpaced Zack Moss by seven carries as the clear lead back, but neither player found much success on the ground. However, Brown did record his fourth rushing touchdown of the season on a four-yard run in the latter portion of the third quarter, and he also managed double-digit carries for the fifth straight game. Brown projects to remain atop Cincinnati's ground attack in a favorable Week 9 home matchup against the Raiders.
