The Saints claimed CB Jerome Murphy off waivers from the St. Louis Rams on Sunday and released CB Elbert Mack.

Murphy (6-0, 200) was a third-round pick by the Rams in the 2010 draft. He had 30 tackles and an interception as a rookie before missing 2011 with an ankle injury. He played for South Florida in college.

Mack (5th year, Troy) played for Tampa Bay the past four seasons after signing as an undrafted free agent. He made 77 tackles in 58 games while starting four times. The Saints signed him in June.
