Chargers' Joey Bosa: Sacks Minshew on Sunday
Bosa tallied seven tackles (six solo), including 1.0 sacks, and one forced fumble in Sunday's 22-10 win over the Raiders.
Bosa sacked Gardner Minshew for a six-yard loss in the second quarter of Sunday's game, which forced the Raiders to punt one play later. Bosa showed his defensive impact in the third quarter, when he punched the ball out of Zamir White's hands, and the fumble was recovered by Ja'Sir Taylor, though the Chargers' offense wasn't able to convert that turnover into points. Bosa and the Chargers will travel to Carolina to take on Bryce Young and the stumbling Panthers offense in Week 2.

Bosa (hand) was absent from the Chargers' injury report Wednesday.
Bosa was spotted practicing without a club on his surgically repaired left hand Monday, so it's no surprise he's been removed from the injury report two days later. The 29-year-old defensive end has been limited to just 14 appearances over the past two seasons, but with better health in 2024, Bosa could combine with Khalil Mack to form one of the top pass-rushing tandems in the league. Bosa remained productive in his nine games in 2023, logging 20 tackles, 6.5 sacks and a forced fumble.

Chargers' Joey Bosa: Nearing return?
Bosa (hand) was spotted participating in Monday's practice without a club on his left hand, Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports.
Bosa broke his left hand during a joint practice with the Rams on Aug. 4, but he appears to be nearing a full return to the field. The 2016 first-round pick has struggled with injuries over the past two seasons, appearing in just 16 regular-season games and recording 30 total tackles, including 9.0 sacks. It's unclear if Bosa will be ready for the Bolts' Week 1 contest against the Raiders, but practicing without a club Monday appears to be a step in the right direction.

Bosa has been held out of practice and preseason games since injuring his hand during the Chargers' joint practice with the Rams on Aug. 4. His return Thursday -- albeit in limited fashion -- is a positive step in his recovery as he aims to be ready for Week 1 against the Raiders. Bosa finished 2023 on IR due to a foot injury, and he posted 20 tackles (14 solo), including 6.5 sacks, one pass defended, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery across nine regular-season games.

Bosa was seen Saturday with his left hand/wrist wrapped up, an injury that he sustained during Sunday's practice.
