49ers' Jason Pinnock: Heading to San Francisco
Pinnock is slated to sign a one-year contract with the 49ers, Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reports.
Pinnock started in all 16 regular-season games he played in 2024 for the Giants and finished with 85 tackles (50 solo), including a career-high 3.0 sacks, and one pass defense. The 2021 fifth-round pick will use offseason programs and training camp to compete against Malik Mustapha (knee) and Ji'Ayir Brown for a starting spot at safety.

Giants' Jason Pinnock: Finishes season with 85 stops
Pinnock tallied 85 tackles (50 solo), including 3.0 sacks, along with one defensed pass over 16 games during the 2024 regular season.
For the second straight season, Pinnock started in all 16 games in which he played and logged exactly 85 tackles. The fourth-year safety recorded 3.0 sacks over the season's first three weeks to establish a career-high mark in that category, but he didn't record another sack the rest of the campaign. Pinnock also had no interceptions this season after picking off two passes -- and returning one for a pick-six -- last year. He'll be a free agent upon the conclusion of the season and could be an attractive option for teams looking for help at the safety position after two straight years of consistent, though mostly quiet, production.

Pinnock notched 10 tackles (seven solo) Sunday in a 45-33 Week 17 win over the Colts.
Pinnock ranked second on New York in tackles behind Ty Summers (11). The fourth-year safety's 10 stops were a season-high mark. Pinnock has been productive with 18 tackles over the past two weeks.

Pinnock finished second on the Giants in stops behind Darius Muasau (11). Pinnock's eight tackles were the second most he's recorded in a game this season -- he had nine Week 2 against Washington. Pinnock (abdomen) was left off the Giants' injury report Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Pinnock missed the Giants' Week 10 loss to the Panthers due to an abdomen injury, but his omission from Wednesday's injury report suggests that the team's Week 11 bye provided enough time to recover from the issue. Now that Pinnock is back at full health, he's expected to start alongside Tyler Nubin (back) as part of the Giants' top safety duo.

Pinnock (abdomen) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Panthers in Munich, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Pinnock didn't appear on the Giants' initial Week 10 injury report before he was listed with an abdominal injury after being a limited participant at Thursday's practice. He then sat out Friday's practice entirely and was listed as questionable heading into the weekend before being made inactive for the first time this season. With Pinnock unavailable in Germany, the Giants will turn to Dane Belton to start at safety alongside Tyler Nubin, according to Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
