Packers' Christian Watson: Limited again Friday
Watson (knee) was a limited practice participant Friday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
Watson hasn't been able to log a full practice since the Packers activated him from the reserve/PUP list prior to Week 8, but his snap shares in two appearances to date (56 percent in Week 8, 66 percent in Week 9) imply that he's nearly back to 100 percent. He's also been productive, gathering in six of eight targets for 143 yards. All of Watson, Dontayvion Wicks (calf), Malik Heath (hip) and Savion Williams (foot) were limited Friday, while Matthew Golden (shoulder) fell back to a DNP from Thursday's limited showing, so Saturday's injury report will reveal who among the quintet has a chance to suit up Monday versus the Eagles.

Packers' Christian Watson: Remains limited by knee
Watson (knee) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
Watson was joined by fellow WRs Matthew Golden (shoulder) and Dontayvion Wicks (calf) as limited, while Savion Williams wasn't able to practice at all to begin Week 10 prep due to a foot injury. Watson's restrictions Thursday likely are related to maintenance of the right knee that suffered a torn ACL in Week 18 of last season, but in his two appearances during the 2025 campaign since being cleared to play, he's struck for six catches (on eight targets) for 143 yards and no touchdowns. Watson will have two more chances to practice fully this week before the Packers potentially tag him with a designation ahead of Monday's contest against the Eagles.

Packers' Christian Watson: Just two grabs in Sunday's loss
Watson caught two of four targets for 58 yards in Sunday's 16-13 loss to the Panthers.
Most of his production came on a 52-yard reception early in the second quarter that set up a field goal for the Packers' first points of the game. Watson has seen exactly four targets in back-to-back weeks since completing his recovery from a torn ACL and making his season debut, but his role in the passing attack could grow significantly as both Tucker Kraft (knee) and Matthew Golden (shoulder) left Sunday's loss in the second half and didn't return. If those injuries prove to be serious, Watson would likely become Jordan Love's No. 2 target in Week 10 against the Eagles.

The Packers continue to limit Watson's practice workload even after he caught four passes for 85 yards in his 2025 debut last Sunday at Pittsburgh. He handled a 56 percent snap share and 62 percent route share in that contest, ranking third among Green Bay's WRs in both categories while outproducing both Romeo Doubs and Matthew Golden. The early returns look good on Watson getting back to full strength after a late-season ACL tear in 2024.

In the wake of his first game action since Week 18 of last season, Watson continues to operate with a cap on his practice reps, likely to avoid putting any undue stress on the right knee that endured a torn ACL less than 10 months ago. He still played 56 percent of the offensive snaps this past Sunday in Pittsburgh on his way to four catches (on four targets) for 85 yards. Watson returned to action this past Sunday at Pittsburgh for the first time since he sustained a torn ACL in his right knee Week 18 of last season, logging 56 percent of the snaps while running a route on 62 percent of them en route to four catches (on four targets) for 85 yards. He may endure practice limitations until the Packers deem him 100 percent, but he at least is healthy enough to be available on game days. Watson (knee) secured all four of his targets for 85 yards in Sunday's 35-25 win over the Steelers.
Watson made a successful return from a torn ACL suffered in the final game of the 2024 regular season, finishing second behind TE Tucker Kraft (7-143-2) in receiving for the Packers on Sunday Night Football. The 25-year-old Watson exhibited his usual big-play ability in his first taste of action this season, showing no ill effects from the severe knee injury he suffered in January. Watson immediately reinserted himself as one of QB Jordan Love's top targets, making him an appealing fantasy option against the Panthers next Sunday.

Watson (knee) is listed as questionable for Week 8 but is in line to play Sunday at Pittsburgh, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
The Packers entered the weekend with a pair of question marks at wide receiver after Matthew Golden also earned the same tag as Watson following Friday's limited practice due to a hip issue. The Packers officially activated Watson from the reserve/PUP list Saturday after he logged three consecutive weeks of capped sessions, so, even though he's suiting up Sunday, he may operate on a restricted snap count in his first game action since he tore the ACL in his right knee Week 18 of last season. The Packers activated Watson (knee) from the reserve/PUP list Saturday, but he remains questionable for Sunday's game against the Steelers.
Watson was limited in practice all week and drew the questionable tag for Week 8, but his activation from the PUP list Saturday is a positive sign for the 2022 second-rounder. He is in the final stages of his recovery from a torn right ACL that he sustained in Week 18 of the 2024 season against the Bears, but whether he plays Sunday may not be officially known until the Packers announce their list of inactive players approximately 90 minutes prior to the 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff. Watson's return would bolster Green Bay's wide receiver corps, which will be without Dontayvion Wicks (calf) for Week 8 while rookie first-rounder Matthew Golden (hip) is listed as questionable.

Watson still hasn't logged a full practice, remaining limited Wednesday through Friday this week. The Packers will need to activate him from the reserve/PUP list Saturday in order to have Watson available Sunday night. Should that happen, Watson likely will start off in a part-time role, even if fellow speedster Matthew Golden (questionable - hip) is limited or absent.
