  • Bills' James Cook: Missing practice Wednesday

Cook won't practice Wednesday due to foot and toe injuries, Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports.

According to Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com, Cook is banged up coming out of last week's loss to Houston and now falls into the day-to-day category ahead of Monday's game against the Jets. Look for added context regarding Cook's status to arrive no later than Thursday, when the Bills will post their first official Week 6 injury report. While Cook is sidelined for at least Wednesday's session, Ty Johnson and Ray Davis are next up for reps out of the backfield.

  • Bills' James Cook: Season-high 82 rushing yards

Cook rushed 20 times for 82 yards and a touchdown while catching two of three targets for 17 yards in Sunday's 23-20 loss to Houston.

Cook cut Buffalo's deficit to 20-10 with a five-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter and set season highs in both carries and rushing yards. His four rushing scores through five games in 2024 match Cook's career total through 33 regular-season games heading into this campaign. Cook will try to continue his scoring spree in Week 6 against the Jets on Monday Night Football.

  • Bills' James Cook: Modest numbers in Week 4 loss

Cook rushed nine times for 39 yards and caught his only target for nine yards in Sunday's 35-10 loss to the Ravens.

Cook scored four touchdowns over the previous two games but watched Ty Johnson score a three-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter. Buffalo's entire offense crashed down to earth with just 10 points after averaging 37.3 in Weeks 1-3, and Cook was held to exactly 39 rushing yards for the second consecutive game. While Cook remains the top option in Buffalo's backfield heading into a Week 5 trip to Houston, Josh Allen is a perpetual threat to call his own number in short-yardage situations, and Johnson has chipped in a touchdown in consecutive games.

  • Bills' James Cook: Finds pay dirt in lopsided win

Cook rushed 11 times for 39 yards and a touchdown while catching four of five targets for 48 yards in Monday's 47-10 win over the Jaguars.

Cook finished Buffalo's opening drive with a six-yard touchdown run, which was his third rushing touchdown in the last two games after Cook had only four rushing scores in his first 34 regular-season appearances. He should have added a 28-yard receiving touchdown on a wheel route in the second quarter, but an accurate throw from Josh Allen went right through Cook's hands. Despite that miscue, Cook finished second on the team in both rushing yards (behind Allen's 44) and receiving yards (behind Khalil Shakir's 72) in the dominant win. Cook has posted at least 87 yards for scrimmage in every game this season heading into a Week 4 trip to Baltimore.
