  • Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Snaps four-game winless streak

Vasilevskiy made 30 saves in a 3-2 win over the Hurricanes on Tuesday. He allowed a rare softie to Andrei Svechnikov in the second period, but he was otherwise strong. Vasilevskiy had lost four straight games and to lesser lights including the Habs, Sharks and Ducks. Still, he's 17-12-1 in 30 starts with a 2.36 GAA and a .915 save percentage. Vasilevskiy is a top-10 goaltender this season, and the Bolts are in the top Wild Card spot in the East. You know what to do.

  • Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Tending twine Tuesday

Vasilevskiy will be between the pipes for Tuesday's home showdown against the Hurricanes, per Benjamin Pierce of the Lightning's official site. Vasilevskiy will look to get back on the right track at home after losing back-to-back starts during Tampa Bay's West Coast road trip. The Big Cat will face a Carolina club that is tied for sixth in the NHL with 3.38 goals per game. The Russian netminder is 14-5-3 with a 2.22 GAA and a .930 save percentage against the Hurricanes in his career.

  • Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Loses low-scoring game

Vasilevskiy stopped 19 of 21 shots in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Kings. Vasilevskiy put in a decent effort, but the Lightning converted just one of their 35 shots against opposing netminder Darcy Kuemper. This was Vasilevskiy's second loss in a row in California, but he's given up a reasonable four goals on 46 shots in those outings. The 30-year-old goalie is 16-12-1 with a 2.37 GAA and a .913 save percentage through 29 appearances. Jonas Johansson is likely to start Sunday's road-trip finale in Anaheim.

  • Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Receiving start Saturday

Vasilevskiy will protect the road goal versus the Kings on Saturday, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports. Vasilevskiy is 4-2-0 with a 2.36 GAA and a .922 save percentage over his last six games. The 30-year-old has been sharp lately, but the Kings' defense rarely gives much ground, so goal support could be hard to come by. On the other hand, the Kings can also do some damage on offense -- they've scored 22 goals over their last six contests.

  • Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Takes narrow loss

Vasilevskiy stopped 23 of 25 shots in Thursday's 2-1 loss to the Sharks. It wasn't a bad performance, but it was a bad result as the Lightning's offense came up flat against one of the worst teams in the league. Vasilevskiy has given up no more than three goals in nine straight outings, going 6-3-0 in those contests. For the season, he's at a 16-11-1 record with a 2.38 GAA and a .913 save percentage through 28 appearances. The Lightning have a back-to-back up next with stops in Los Angeles on Saturday and Anaheim on Sunday. Look for Vasilevskiy and Jonas Johansson to split those games, and likely in that order if head coach Jon Cooper wants to match his top goalie against the tougher opponent.

Vasilevskiy stopped 22 of 25 shots in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Panthers. The fourth goal was an empty-netter in the third period. Vasilevskiy saw the end of his three-game winning streak Sunday, but that shouldn't take away the fact that he's been playing at a very high level in recent weeks. Since the beginning of December, the 30-year-old Russian netminder has gone 5-2-0 with a 2.17 GAA and a .918 save percentage across seven appearances. He owns a 2.41 GAA and a .910 save percentage across 26 starts in 2024-25.

  • Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Third straight win

Vasilevskiy made 31 saves in a 3-1 win over the Blues on Tuesday. Pavel Buchnevich was the only member of the Blues that lit the lamp. He converted a back door pass from Robert Thomas on an extended shift in the zone. Vasilevskiy has now won three straight games and is 15-9-1 on the season. But the pressure on him remains -- the team doesn't have a reliable back-up and at some point, that will come back to haunt them. Monitor Vasilevskiy's workload carefully. If things don't change, you may need a contingency to address exhaustion.

Vasilevskiy will tend the twine at home versus the Blues on Thursday, Gabby Shirley of FanDuel Sports Network Florida & Sun reports. • Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Fourth win in last five starts

Vasilevskiy made 28 saves in a 5-3 win over the Blue Jackets on Tuesday. The game was tighter than the score; the Bolts scored into an empty net to seal the win. Vasilevskiy has won two straight and four of his last five, and he now sits with a 14-9-1 record, 2.44 GAA and .910 save percentage. We love his game, but we don't love his lack of a safety net, and both the Bolts and fantasy managers may eventually pay for that. Vasilevskiy has started 24 of the Bolts' 29 games, in large part because the team doesn't trust backup Jonas Johansson. The team needs to do something to ensure Vasy isn't exhausted by this workload.

Vasilevskiy was the first goalie off the ice Tuesday, Benjamin Pierce of the Lightning's official site reports, indicating he'll tend the twine at home against Columbus. In his last five outings, the 30-year-old backstop went 3-2-0 with a 2.45 GAA and a .901 save percentage. Even with his recent inconsistencies. Vasilevskiy should continue to see the majority of the start for the Lightning ahead of Jonas Johansson.

  • Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Plenty of help in win

Vasilevskiy stopped 19 of 22 shots in Thursday's 8-3 win over the Flames. Vasilevskiy wasn't great in this game, but he didn't have to be behind another massive showing from his offense. This was the third time in the last eight contests the Lightning have put up an eight-spot. Vasilevskiy is now 13-9-1 with a 2.41 GAA and a .908 save percentage over 23 appearances. This was his fifth start in a row, and he hasn't played in more than that many consecutive games this year. It's possible Jonas Johansson will be called upon for the Lightning's road-trip finale Saturday in Seattle, though the team has not officially announced its plans one way or the other.

  • Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Loses in unfortunate fashion

Vasilevskiy stopped 23 of 25 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Oilers. The 30-year-old Russian netminder couldn't do anything to deny Connor McDavid's first-period goal, and Vasilevskiy was a victim of an unfortunate situation in the sequence that led to the game-winning goal in the second period. He denied a breakaway attempt from Leon Draisaitl, but when Vasilevskiy tapped the puck away, it ricocheted off Victor Hedman's leg to give the Oilers a 2-1 lead. Despite the loss, Vasilevskiy had another strong showing, and he's now posted a save percentage of at least .920 in each of his last three starts. Over his last 10 games, the 30-year-old has gone 6-4-0 with a 2.33 GAA and a .910 save percentage.
