Sabres' Jacob Bryson: Nabs helper in loss
Bryson recorded an assist in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Oilers.
Bryson had gone seven games without a point and also missed six contests (two due to illness, four as a healthy scratch) in that span. He's been in a part-time role all season and typically plays on the third pairing when in the lineup. The 27-year-old blueliner has four assists, nine shots on net, 10 PIM and 33 blocked shots over 28 contests. A limited role and minimal offense combine to make Bryson a non-factor in fantasy.

Sabres' Owen Power: Sends helper in loss
Power notched an assist and two shots on goal in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Oilers.
Power has struggled with just three points and a minus-4 rating over 11 appearances in January. The 22-year-old defenseman has 25 points, 86 shots on net, 75 blocked shots and a minus-11 rating through 49 outings overall. He's still on pace for a career year and is unlikely to lose his spots on the second pairing or second power-play unit, but he'll be tough to roster in fantasy if his offense doesn't get back on track.

Sabres' Dylan Cozens: Produces helper
Cozens logged an assist, four shots on goal and three hits in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Oilers.
Cozens has four points over his last eight outings while filling a second-line role. The center helped out on Jiri Kulich's tally in the second period. Cozens has not produced a multi-point effort since Dec. 27. He's now at 10 goals, 14 helpers, 112 shots on net, 99 hits, 45 PIM, 33 blocked shots and a minus-18 rating through 49 games.

Sabres' Jason Zucker: Snags helper in return
Zucker notched an assist and three shots on goal in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Oilers.
Zucker missed two games due to an illness and logged just 15:05 of ice time in his return. He was still able to chip in a helper on an Alex Tuch goal in the first period. Zucker is up to 16 goals, 20 helpers, 85 shots on net, 46 hits, 49 PIM and an even plus-minus rating over 47 appearances. He should continue to be a solid depth winger in fantasy as long as he's playing in a top-six role with power-play time.

Sabres' Jiri Kulich: Scores once but can't strike twice
Kulich scored a goal on seven shots in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Oilers.
Kulich gave the Sabres a 2-1 lead in the second period, but that was the last goal that counted for his team. He was involved in a net-front scramble in the third, but he kicked the puck into the net on a play that didn't hold up under video review. Kulich has four points over his last four outings and appears to be doing fairly well in a top-line role at even strength. He's now at nine goals, four assists, 81 shots on net, 26 hits and a minus-1 rating through 35 contests overall.

Sabres' James Reimer: Strong game not enough
Reimer made 31 saves Saturday in a 3-2 loss to Edmonton.
He played a strong game, and the Sabres probably deserved a better fate -- the team had a goal disallowed in the third period after the NHL's Situation Room determined the puck was kicked into the net. Reimer doesn't get a lot of starts, and he hasn't won since Nov. 23 against San Jose. He is a risky spot starter behind the worst team in the East and third-worst in the NHL.

Sabres' Alex Tuch: Seven points in last nine games
Tuch scored a goal in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Oilers.
Tuch has 16 goals, 19 assists and 108 shots in 49 games. He has four goals, seven points and 22 shots in his last nine outings. Tuch does have a 79-point season on his resume, but that's likely an anomaly. The reality is that he's more likely a 55-point, second-unit winger who will give fantasy managers some secondary blocks. That should have him rostered in many formats, but he's also slightly overrated in others.

Sabres' Jason Zucker: Back in lineup
Zucker (illness) is good to play Saturday versus Edmonton, per Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News.
Zucker missed two games due to the illness. He has 16 goals and 35 points in 46 outings in 2024-25. Zucker is projected to serve on the second line alongside Dylan Cozens and Alex Tuch.

Sabres' James Reimer: Set to face Edmonton
Reimer is expected to start on the road against Edmonton on Saturday, per Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News.
Reimer last played between the pipes against Vegas on Jan. 4, stopping 30 of 33 shots in a 3-1 loss. He's 1-5-1 with a 3.05 GAA and an .891 save percentage in nine outings between Anaheim and Buffalo in 2024-25. Edmonton is tied for sixth in the league with 3.31 goals per game.

Sabres' Tyson Kozak: Returns to minors
Kozak was reassigned to AHL Rochester on Saturday.
Buffalo activated Ryan McLeod (upper body) in a corresponding move. Kozak has a goal, seven hits and 14 blocks in nine appearances with Buffalo in 2024-25. The 22-year-old also has six goals and 12 points in 24 outings with Rochester this season.

Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Playing against Oilers
McLeod (upper body) will be in the lineup versus Edmonton on Saturday, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports.
McLeod will make his return to the ice following a three-game stint on the shelf due to his upper-body injury. It's not immediately clear where the 25-year-old center will line up, as he was filling in on defense at practice Friday for Rasmus Dahlin, who was taking a maintenance day. Regardless, McLeod is unlikely to take on a top-six role, more likely slotting in as the third or fourth-line center, which will limit his offensive upside.

Sabres' Jason Zucker: Deemed game-time decision
Zucker (illness) is considered a game-time decision for Saturday's road matchup against the Oilers, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports.
Zucker has missed the last two games due to an illness, and it's not yet clear whether he'll be back in action when the Sabres conclude their road trip Saturday. However, even if Zucker is unavailable, Buffalo should get a boost since Ryan McLeod (upper body) is slated to return to the lineup.

Sabres' Henri Jokiharju: Gets on scoresheet with assist
Jokiharju notched an assist in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Flames.
Jokiharju ended a 26-game point drought with the helper. The 25-year-old was in the lineup as the Sabres played with seven defensemen for the second game in a row. Jokiharju or Dennis Gilbert would check out of the lineup if the team returns to the traditional six blueliners. Jokiharju is at four points, 41 shots on net, 30 blocked shots, 29 hits and a plus-3 rating through 33 appearances this year.

Sabres' Sam Lafferty: Garners helper Thursday
Lafferty notched an assist, two hits and two PIM in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Flames.
Lafferty ended a four-game drought with the helper. The 29-year-old has played on the fourth line this season, leading to limited chances on offense, but he has four points over his last 12 outings. Overall, he's at five points, 26 shots on net, 51 hits, 22 PIM and a minus-6 rating through 37 appearances this season.

Sabres' Tage Thompson: Keeps streak alive Thursday
Thompson scored a goal in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Flames.
Thompson gave the Sabres the lead midway through the second period with his 22nd goal of the season, but the team was unable to hold on to the lead the rest of the way. Thompson has been on a tear of late, as he's scored in three consecutive games while riding a five-game point streak. He's tallied 10 points (four goals, six assists) across 10 games since the beginning of January.

Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Tagged with loss Thursday
Luukkonen stopped 21 of 24 shots in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Flames. The other two goals were empty-netters in the final minutes of the third period.
Luukkonen has alternated wins and losses over his last six outings, going 3-3-0 with a 2.71 GAA and a .909 save percentage, but the numbers during that stretch don't tell the whole story. He's been outstanding in the wins, combining for 102 saves on 104 shots (.981 save percentage), but he's allowed 10 goals on 70 shots (.857 save percentage) in the three losses. The lack of consistency certainly hurts his fantasy upside in most formats.

Sabres' Mattias Samuelsson: Scores, assists Thursday
Samuelsson posted a goal and an assist in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Flames.
Samuelsson was on a slump to open the new calendar year but has managed to turn things around of late with three points over his last three appearances. The 24-year-old blueliner has a good shot at establishing new career-high marks in several categories. He's only accounted for eight points throughout 31 games this season, but his previous season-best output is 10, established in both 2021-22 and 2022-23.
