Shesterkin made 27 saves in a 4-0 win over the Lightning on Thursday. It was his sixth shutout of the season. Shesterkin didn't play up to his usual standards this season, but much of that came from playing behind a squad that dropped from 114 points and a Presidents' Trophy in 2023-24 to 85 points and missing the playoffs. Shesterkin will be looking to exact revenge in 2025-26, so there's no need to drop him down fantasy draft lists.... See More ... See Less

Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Starting final game of season
Shesterkin will be between the pipes versus Tampa Bay on Thursday, per Mollie Walker of the New York Post. Shesterkin will likely face a depleted Lightning team as Tampa Bay is locked in to second place in the Atlantic Division and will host Florida in Game 1 of the opening round of the playoffs. Shesterkin is 26-29-5 with five shutouts, a 2.91 GAA and a .903 save percentage in 60 outings this season. Despite having the worst season statistically in his NHL career, Shesterkin was stellar most of the season and kept the Rangers in playoff contention. Shesterkin should be drafted among the top goaltenders in fantasy drafts ahead of the 2025-26 season.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Playoff hopes end in Carolina
Shesterkin turned aside 21 of 26 shots in Saturday's 7-3 loss to the Hurricanes, with Carolina's final two goals getting scored into an empty net. With the loss, the Rangers were officially eliminated from playoff contention. Shesterkin is stumbling to the finish line along with the rest of his team -- he's given up at least four goals in four of his last six starts, going 2-3-1 over that stretch with a rough 3.86 GAA and .861 save percentage. The 29-year-old is headed for the worst ratios of his career this season, and New York may need to significantly reinforce its blue line this offseason, if not overhaul its entire defensive scheme, for Shesterkin to regain his elite form in 2025-26.... Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Starting in Carolina
Shesterkin will defend the road net against the Hurricanes on Saturday, per Mollie Walker of the New York Post. Shesterkin is coming off a 44-save performance in Thursday's 9-2 win over the Islanders. He has a 26-28-5 record with five shutouts, a 2.87 GAA and a .905 save percentage through 59 appearances this season. Carolina ranks ninth in the league with 3.22 goals per game in 2024-25.... Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Standout performance Thursday
Shesterkin made 44 saves in a 9-2 win over the Islanders on Thursday. The Rangers provided plenty of offensive support, scoring four goals in the first period and another four tallies in the third. However, Shesterkin was still excellent between the pipes, posting a standout performance. He hasn't delivered a Shesterkin-like season -- he's 26-28-5 with a 2.87 GAA and .905 save percentage. The Rangers are a long shot to make the postseason, as the team needs to win all three remaining contests, and the Canadiens can't pick up a point. Shesterkin will be up to the challenge.... Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Between pipes Thursday
Shesterkin will patrol the visiting crease against the Islanders on Thursday. Shesterkin has lost his last two games, giving up seven goals on only 37 shots (.811 save percentage). Shesterkin is 25-28-5 with five shutouts, a 2.89 GAA and a .903 save percentage. He is having his worst campaign in six NHL seasons, though he has played quite well through most of the year. The Islanders are registering 2.78 goals per game this season, which ranks 25th in the NHL.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Another tough night Monday
Shesterkin stopped 18 of 22 shots in Monday's 5-1 loss to the Lightning, with Tampa Bay's final tally getting scored into an empty net. Three of the pucks that got by Shesterkin came on Tampa power plays, and he didn't have much chance on the fourth one, either. The Rangers' late-season struggles have all but eliminated them from the playoff picture -- they're six points back of the Habs for the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference with five games left on their schedule -- and while Shesterkin isn't to blame for the collapse, he also hasn't done much to turn things around. Since shutting out Columbus on March 15, the netminder has gone 2-6-1 with a 3.40 GAA and an .880 save percentage.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Tending twine against Tampa Bay
Shesterkin will defend the home crease against the Lightning on Monday, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports. Shesterkin has been inconsistent recently, going 2-2-1 with a 3.42 GAA and .881 save percentage over his last five starts. He'll face a tough test against Tampa Bay on Monday, as the Lightning rank second in the NHL with 3.54 goals per game.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Allows three goals in defeat
Shesterkin stopped 12 of 15 shots in Saturday's 4-0 loss to New Jersey. The fourth goal was an empty-netter. The Devils had only five shots in the second period but scored a power-play goal and added a shorthanded tally. The Rangers fired 26 shots on goal in the defeat, and Jacob Markstrom was perfect at the other end of the ice. Shesterkin's record falls to 25-27-5 with a 2.86 GAA and a .904 save percentage through 57 appearances this season.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Hangs on for OT win
Shesterkin stopped 20 shots in Wednesday's 5-4 overtime win over the Wild. The teams traded goals through the first 40-plus minutes, with Marco Rossi taking advantage of a Rangers turnover just 22 seconds into the third period to tie the game at 4-4, but Shesterkin stood tall the rest of the way and got rewarded when Artemi Panarin found Vincent Trocheck for the OT winner. Shesterkin has only two wins in his last seven starts, going 2-4-1 with a 3.35 GAA and .893 save percentage, and he may need to turn things around if the Rangers are going to make the playoffs -- they're currently tied with the Canadiens at 79 points for the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference, but Montreal has a game in hand.... Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Set to start Wednesday
Shesterkin is expected to start at home against Minnesota on Wednesday, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports. Shesterkin has struggled recently, posting a 1-4-1 record, 3.24 GAA and .900 save percentage across his past six appearances. It's the latest rough stretch in what's been a disappointing campaign overall -- he's 24-26-5 with a 2.84 GAA and a .906 save percentage in 55 outings. The Wild rank 28th in the league with just 2.68 goals per game, so Shesterkin has an opportunity to have a solid night.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Fades late in overtime loss
Shesterkin stopped 28 of 33 shots in Friday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Ducks. This isn't a good look -- the Rangers led 4-2 for much of the third period. Shesterkin wasn't able to fend off the comeback, which saw Cutter Gauthier and Olen Zellweger score in the third period before Mason McTavish completed the Ducks' comeback in overtime. Shesterkin has now tasted defeat in five of his last six outings, allowing 19 goals in that 1-4-1 span. The 29-year-old is at a 24-26-5 record with a 2.84 GAA and a .906 save percentage through 55 starts this season. He'll likely cede the crease to Jonathan Quick for Saturday's game in San Jose, but Shesterkin will need to turn things around Wednesday versus the Wild to bolster the Rangers' pursuit of a playoff spot.... Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Set to start Friday
Shesterkin is expected to start on the road against Anaheim on Friday, per Derek Lee of The Hockey News. Shesterkin stopped 30 of 32 shots in his last start Tuesday, but the Rangers still suffered a 3-1 loss. He's 24-26-4 with a 2.80 GAA and a .908 save percentage in 54 appearances in 2024-25. Anaheim ranks 28th in goals per game with 2.69.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Falls to Kings
Shesterkin stopped 30 of 32 shots in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Kings. The third goal was an empty-netter. The Rangers did pretty well to limit the explosiveness of the Kings' offense, but they couldn't counter with enough offense to support Shesterkin. He dropped to 3-5-0 over his starting spree over the last eight games, though he's limited opponents to two or fewer goals five times in that stretch. The 29-year-old is now at 24-26-4 with a 2.80 GAA and a .908 save percentage through 54 starts. The Rangers have a back-to-back up next, with games in Anaheim on Friday and in San Jose on Saturday, so look for Shesterkin and Jonathan Quick to split those starts.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Making eighth straight start
Shesterkin will protect the road goal versus the Kings on Tuesday, Larry Brooks of The New York Post reports. Shesterkin is set for an eighth straight start, but he has gone 3-4-0 with a 2.33 GAA and a .919 save percentage in that span. The Kings have scored 14 goals over their last two games, so they'll be a formidable opponent, especially in their own barn. The Kings are 25-3-4 at home this season, so this is not a great matchup for Shesterkin.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Superb in Saturday's triumph
Shesterkin stopped 36 shots in a 5-3 win over Vancouver on Saturday. Shesterkin was outstanding despite the Canucks outshooting the Rangers by a 39-12 margin. Vancouver had an 11-1 shot advantage in the first period and peppered the Rangers netminder with 15 pucks in the third frame. Shesterkin snapped his three-game losing skid to improve to 24-25-4 with a 2.81 GAA and a .907 save percentage through 53 starts this season.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Starting Saturday
Shesterkin will guard the home net Saturday against Vancouver, Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today. Shesterkin will get the call against the Canucks as he looks to snap a three-game losing streak -- he's allowed nine goals on 86 shots in that span. Overall, the 29-year-old netminder is 23-25-4 with a .907 save percentage this season.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Third straight loss
Shesterkin made 24 saves in a 4-3 loss to Toronto on Thursday. It was a tough night for Shesterkin. The Leafs came in hot and have now won three straight. He and the Rangers have lost three in a row, and they are two points behind the Habs for the first wild card spot. Shesterkin has had an un-Shesterkin season. He's 23-25-4 with a 2.81 GAA and .907 save percentage. He'll rebound, but he also needs to be a difference maker to get the Blueshirts into the postseason.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Tending twine against Toronto
Shesterkin will start Thursday's home game against the Maple Leafs, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports. Shesterkin has been charged with losses in his last two starts, going 0-2-0 with a 2.61 GAA and .914 save percentage. The Maple Leafs are tied for ninth in the NHL with 3.19 goals per game this season.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Let down by offense Tuesday
Shesterkin made 33 saves in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Flames. The Rangers' offense no-showed this one, eventually getting outshot 35-13 on the night, and Shesterkin did well just to keep things close. He's been brilliant in March, posting a 2.01 GAA and .926 save percentage with two shutouts through eight outings, but New York's lack of consistent offense has left him stuck with a 3-3-2 record on the month.... Joe Fortunato@JoeFortunatoBSB4D agoThe Rangers finish 11th in tankathon for the NHL. They hold a 3% chance to win the lottery, and cannot fall into the 14-15th overall slot which would auto-move the 1st this year to Pittsburgh. My bet? If the Rangers don't win the lottery they give the pick to Pitt. My guess
