Spurs' Bismack Biyombo: Receives starting nod Sunday
Biyombo will start in Sunday's game against Toronto, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports.
The veteran center will return to the starting five after receiving a DNP due to a coach's decision in Friday's win over the 76ers. He'll push Jeremy Sochan to the second unit. Over his last five outings (four starts), Biyombo has averaged 2.8 points and 3.6 rebounds across 16.0 minutes per contest.

Spurs' Bismack Biyombo: Signs pact with San Antonio
The Spurs will sign Biyombo to a contract for the remainder of the season following the expiration of his second 10-day pact, NBA reporter Chris Haynes reports.
The veteran center impressed the Spurs enough to earn a rest-of-season contract, and he should continue to see significant playing time with Victor Wembanyama (shoulder) out for the season. Biyombo has started in all five appearances with San Antonio, averaging 6.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.2 blocks while shooting 66.7 percent from the field in 19.0 minutes per game. He logged back-to-back outings with a double-double in that five-game span.

After two lackluster efforts as the Spurs' new starting center in which he didn't play more than 16 minutes, Biyombo got a full workload Sunday and responded with his first double-double since Nov. 12, 2023, and his highest combined block and steal total since Dec. 23, 2022. With Victor Wembanyama (shoulder) lost for the season, the 32-year-old Biyombo appears to be San Antonio's best option in the middle, and he's still capable of making an impact at the rim -- he averaged 1.1 blocks in 23.9 minutes over 30 contests last season for the Grizzlies.

Bismack Biyombo: Ten-day deal expires
Biyombo became a free agent Friday after his 10-day contract with the Spurs expired, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.
Biyombo will at least temporarily head to the open market one day after he made his season debut for the Spurs in a 120-109 win over the Suns. With Victor Wembanyama (blood clot) ruled out for the season prior to Thursday's contest, Biyombo went from being out of the rotation to stepping in as the Spurs' starting center. Despite getting the starting assignment, he played just 16 minutes and finished with eight points (4-4 FG), three rebounds, two assists and one steal while interim head coach Mitch Johnson made ample use of Jeremy Sochan as a small-ball option at center. The Spurs could still look to re-sign Biyombo to a second 10-day deal ahead of Friday's game against the Pistons, but even if that happens, it's unclear if the 32-year-old would continue to start. Charles Bassey (knee) may be ready to return from a six-game absence Friday, and he could be prioritized ahead of Biyombo at center. The Spurs could also open up more playing time at center for Sandro Mamukelashvili, who didn't play Thursday in a coach's decision.

Biyombo is starting Thursday's game against the Suns, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports.
Biyombo put pen to paper on a 10-day deal with the Spurs on Feb. 8, and he'll get an opportunity to show what he can do Thursday after it was reported earlier in the day that Victor Wembanyama would be shut down for the rest of the year due to deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder. Biyombo could certainly earn consistent playing time with a strong outing versus Phoenix, though Sandro Mamukelashvili and Jeremy Sochan could also get looks at center going forward.

Thunder's Bismack Biyombo: Not listed on injury report
Biyombo isn't listedon the injury report for Friday's game against the Heat.
During a timeout in the first quarter of Wednesday's 128-120 win over the Trail Blazers, Biyombo endured a fainting spell, but he was able to get up under his own power. After his departure, the Trail Blazers' team physicians cleared Biyombo of any medical issues, but the Thunder still elected to rule the veteran center out for the game. Fortunately for Biyombo, he's feeling fine a day later and will be available as frontcourt depth Friday versus Miami.

Thunder's Bismack Biyombo: Endures medical incident
Biyombo collapsed while standing during a timeout in Wednesday's game against the Trail Blazers, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports. He was able to get up and walk to the locker room unassisted.
Biyombo appeared to have fainted during a timeout, falling backward into the Oklahoma City bench. However, he was able to get up on his own and walked back to the locker room. Per Nick Gallo of the Thunder's official site, Biyombo was cleared of any serious medical issues and will undergo further evaluation Thursday. He didn't log any minutes before the incident in question.
