  • Timberwolves' Julius Randle: Out at least two more weeks

Minnesota announced Wednesday that Randle (groin) will be re-evaluated in two weeks after being diagnosed with a right adductor strain following an MRI.

Randle had missed the Timberwolves' last two games after suffering what the team labeled as a right groin strain in last Thursday's win over the Jazz, but a more serious injury was confirmed once the big man was sent in for a second opinion. With Randle's absence now set to extend through the All-Star break, Naz Reid should continue to start in the frontcourt alongside Rudy Gobert. Reid has averaged 19.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.5 three-pointers, 1.5 assists and 1.0 blocks in 30.0 minutes through his first two starts.

  • Timberwolves' Julius Randle: Set to miss multiple games

Head coach Chris Finch said Saturday that the Timberwolves are preparing to be without Randle "for the near future" due to a right groin strain that he suffered in Thursday's 138-113 win over the Jazz, Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic reports.

Randle played just 10 minutes Thursday before exiting the contest after straining his groin. Naz Reid will make his first start of the season Saturday against the Wizards, and the reigning Sixth Man of the Year Award winner will likely remain a member of the top unit for as long as Randle is sidelined. A clearer timeline for Randle's return should come into focus once the Timberwolves give him the green light to resume on-court work.

  • Timberwolves' Julius Randle: Won't face Washington on Saturday

Randle (groin) has been ruled out for Saturday's game versus the Wizards.

Randle sustained the right groin strain after playing only 10 minutes in Thursday's win over the Jazz, and his next opportunity to feature will come Monday against Sacramento. With the veteran forward sidelined, Naz Reid and Luka Garza are candidates for a bump in playing time.

  • Timberwolves' Julius Randle: Leaves early with groin injury

Randle has been ruled out for the remainder of Thursday's game against the Jazz due to right groin soreness.

The severity of Randle's injury is uncertain, but he'll be re-evaluated Friday before the Timberwolves provide an update on his status heading into Saturday's game against the Wizards. Naz Reid started the second half in place of Randle, who finished with six points (3-7 FG, 0-2 3Pt), one rebound and one assist in 10 minutes before checking out of the game for good with 10:12 remaining in the second quarter.

  • Timberwolves' Julius Randle: Limps to locker room

Randle went to the locker room during the second quarter of Thursday's game against the Jazz with an apparent right thigh injury, Chris Hine of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Randle looked to be in significant discomfort and didn't waste much time before heading to the locker room to be examined further. Naz Reid and Jaylen Clark would presumably be in line for a larger workload in the second half if Randle can't return.

  • Timberwolves' Julius Randle: Efficient in victory

Randle totaled 28 points (10-16 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 8-10 FT), seven rebounds, six assists and three steals across 35 minutes during Wednesday's 121-113 victory over the Suns.

Randle's 28 points during Wednesday's victory were his most since Nov. 17. While Randle continues to be a strong rebounder and quality secondary playmaker, he has struggled mightily with his outside shot as of late. The 30-year-old forward is converting just 18.6 percent of his 4.3 three-point attempts per contest across his last 10 appearances.

  • Timberwolves' Julius Randle: Full stat line in victory

Randle finished Saturday's 133-104 victory over Denver with 21 points (9-20 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, seven assists, two steals and one block across 32 minutes.

The veteran forward stuffed the stat sheet Saturday, finishing as the club's second-leading scorer behind Anthony Edwards (34 points). Randle has scored 20-plus points in two of the club's last five outings, during which he has averaged 14.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 1.2 steals in 34.4 minutes per contest.

  • Timberwolves' Julius Randle: Narrowly misses triple-double

Randle posted 20 points (7-12 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 5-7 FT), 14 rebounds, nine assists and one steal across 38 minutes during Saturday's 124-117 loss to the Cavaliers.

Randle came one assist short of registering his first triple-double of the season for the Timberwolves on Saturday, but he was able to corral a season-high 14 rebounds to pace the team. While the star forward's usage and rebounding rates remain considerably lower than what they were during his time with the Knicks, Randle is shooting a career-high 81.2 percent from the free-throw line over 42 contests in 2024-25, much to the delight of nine-category fantasy managers.

  • Timberwolves' Julius Randle: Double-doubles in win

Randle contributed 20 points (8-15 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-8 FT), 10 rebounds and three assists in 33 minutes during Monday's 120-106 win over the Wizards.

The veteran forward posted his eighth double-double of the season while finishing as the club's second-leading scorer behind Anthony Edwards (41 points). Randle has been fairly successful with his new club, and he has recorded 20-plus points in 22 of his 39 regular-season appearances thus far. The 30-year-old is also on pace to shoot 35.0 percent from beyond the arc, which would be the second-highest mark of his 11-year career.

  • Timberwolves' Julius Randle: Sniffs triple-double

Randle racked up 18 points (7-13 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), eight rebounds and eight assists across 33 minutes during Saturday's 127-125 loss to the Grizzlies.

Anthony Edwards struggled with his shot and Donte DiVincenzo carried the Timberwolves in this loss, but Randle's contributions can't go unnoticed. He was efficient with his shot and also ended just two rebounds and two assists away from a triple-double. Randle should continue to post solid numbers on both ends of the court as long as he stays healthy.

  • Timberwolves' Julius Randle: Balanced outing in double-double

Randle recorded 23 points (8-16 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 6-6 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists and one block over 31 minutes in Thursday's 104-89 win over Orlando.

Randle led the way for the Timberwolves in another road victory Thursday, leading all players in scoring and shots made while concluding as one of two players with a double-double. Randle has tallied a 20-point, 10-rebound performance in four contests this season, and he has hauled in 10 or more boards on seven occasions.

  • Timberwolves' Julius Randle: Stuffs stat sheet

Randle produced 16 points (6-11 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-5 FT), six rebounds, three assists and two steals across 35 minutes during Tuesday's 104-97 victory over New Orleans.

Randle had a solid showing on both ends of the court Tuesday, though his performance wasn't eye-popping by any means. Randle at least bounced back from the five-point effort he delivered in Monday's win over the Clippers, but he's failed to reach the 20-point mark in five of his last six games.

  • Timberwolves' Julius Randle: Posts dud Monday

Randle chipped in five points (2-10 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds and two assists over 23 minutes during Monday's 108-106 victory over the Clippers.

Randle was held to a season-low five points in what was arguably his worst performance of the season. Apart from the defensive categories, Randle has been productive over his last 10 games with averages of 18.5 points, 7.4 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 2.1 three-pointers.

  • Timberwolves' Julius Randle: Decent output in loss Saturday

Randle posted 17 points (6-12 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 5-5 FT), seven rebounds and six assists over 36 minutes during Saturday's 119-105 loss to the Pistons.

Randle was the only Minnesota player not named Anthony Edwards who scored in double digits in this game, and all things considered, Randle had an efficient performance while making his presence felt on both ends of the court. As good as he looked Saturday, fantasy managers might have some reason to be concerned with Randle's recent performances. The star forward has failed to reach the 20-point mark in three of his previous four outings, and he's struggled all season long to replicate the numbers he had been posting in recent years with the Knicks.

  • Timberwolves' Julius Randle: Leads team with balanced outing

Randle provided 27 points (9-16 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 4-4 FT), eight rebounds, seven assists and one steal across 39 minutes during Thursday's 118-115 loss to the Celtics.

Randle led the way for Minnesota in Thursday's contest, pacing all Timberwolves players in scoring and assists while hauling in a team-high-tying rebound mark in a well-rounded performance. Randle has tallied 25 or more points in five contests this season, adding at least five rebounds and five assists in three of those outings. He has surpassed the 20-point mark in three of his last five appearances.

  • Timberwolves' Julius Randle: Teases triple-double in win

Randle produced 27 points (10-16 FG, 5-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, eight assists and one block over 36 minutes during Friday's 113-112 victory over the Rockets.

The 27 points marked Randle's best effort since he poured in 35 against the Suns on Nov. 17. The veteran forward has struggled to put together a prolonged hot streak with Minnesota, and through 11 games in December, Randle is averaging 19.0 points, 7.4 boards, 4.8 assists and 2.3 threes while shooting 45.5 percent from beyond the arc.

  • Timberwolves' Julius Randle: Solid all-around performance

Randle notched 23 points (6-13 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 8-10 FT), 10 rebounds and eight assists across 34 minutes during Wednesday's 105-99 victory over Dallas.

Randle helped the Timberwolves get the best of the Mavericks on Christmas Day by filling up the stat sheet alongside Anthony Edwards. Randle has now put up a double-double in consecutive games while dishing out seven or more assists, making him a well-rounded threat for Minnesota.
