Grizzlies' Ja Morant: Won't play Saturday
Morant (hip) won't play in Saturday's Game 4 against the Thunder, Pete Pranica of FanDuel Sports Network Southeast reports.
Morant has been downgraded from doubtful to out Saturday due to a hip contusion. Desmond Bane will likely be relied upon heavily for offensive production on the perimeter in his absence. The Grizzlies will have to win Game 4 to give Morant another chance to suit up for Game 5 on Monday.

Grizzlies' Ja Morant: Season ends Saturday
Morant (hip) finished the 2024-25 campaign with averages of 23.2 points, 7.3 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 1.2 steals across 30.4 minutes per game in 50 regular-season appearances.
Morant missed Saturday's elimination game loss to the Thunder due to a hip injury. He finished the first-round series with averages of 18.3 points, 5.0 assists and 2.0 rebounds across 27.3 minutes per contest in three appearances. The star point guard dealt with several injuries throughout the season after playing only nine games during the 2023-24 campaign. Morant recorded 13 double-doubles and one triple-double in the 2024-25 season, during which he also supplied shooting splits of 45.4/30.9/82.4 while averaging a career-high 1.8 three-pointers per game.

Grizzlies' Ja Morant: Officially doubtful for Game 4
Morant is listed as doubtful for Saturday for Game 4 of the Grizzlies' first-round playoff series versus the Thunder due to a hip contusion.
Earlier Friday, Shams Charania of ESPN relayed that Morant was in line to sit out Game 4, but the Grizzlies aren't officially closing the door on the star point guard suiting up, even though he looks to be trending toward an absence. Scotty Pippen has joined Morant in the starting five since the start of the Play-In Tournament and would likely see more time on the ball in the event Morant can't play. Luke Kennard (Achilles) -- who is listed as questionable -- along with John Konchar and Vince Williams could be the main players who benefit from added minutes if Morant is sidelined.

Grizzlies' Ja Morant: Won't suit up Saturday
Morant (hip) has been ruled out for Saturday's Game 4 against the Thunder, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Morant sustained a left hip injury on a hard fall in the second quarter of Thursday's Game 3 loss to Oklahoma City, and he'll miss Saturday's win-or-go-home matchup. Scotty Pippen and Luke Kennard will likely see an uptick in playing time due to Morant being sidelined. If the Grizzlies win, Morant's next opportunity to play will come in Game 5 on Monday.

Grizzlies' Ja Morant: Won't return in Game 3
Morant (hip) won't return during Thursday's Game 3 against the Thunder.
Morant sustained an apparent left hip injury on a hard fall in the second quarter and will likely require further testing ahead of Saturday's Game 4. The superstar point guard will finish Game 3 with 15 points (6-11 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-4 FT), five assists and a rebound across 16 minutes. Luke Kennard and Scotty Pippen will likely receive a bump in minutes the rest of the way due to Morant being sidelined.

Grizzlies' Ja Morant: Exits to locker room Thursday
Morant exited to the locker room after sustaining an apparent left hip injury in the second quarter of Thursday's Game 3 against the Thunder, Chris Herrington of The Daily Memphian reports.
Morant was undercut by an opposing player on a dunk attempt at the 3:15 mark of the second quarter and stayed down for an extended period. On the bright side, the superstar point guard was able to shoot his free throws before heading back to the locker room. If Morant is unable to return, Scotty Pippen and Luke Kennard are candidates for a bump in minutes.

Grizzlies' Ja Morant: Chips in 23 points in Game 2 loss
Morant tallied 23 points (10-25 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six assists, two rebounds, two steals and one block over 40 minutes in Tuesday's 118-99 loss to Oklahoma City in Game 2 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Morant played a game-high 40 minutes Tuesday as the Grizzlies managed to avoid a second straight blowout. He led Memphis in assists and finished as the team's second-leading scorer behind Jaren Jackson (26). With Memphis down 2-0, Morant will look to make a bigger impact as the series heads to Memphis on Thursday.

Grizzlies' Ja Morant: Leads starters in scoring blowout
Morant notched 17 points (6-17 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 4-5 FT), three rebounds, four assists and one block across 26 minutes during Sunday's 131-80 loss to the Thunder in Game 1 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Morant did all he could to help lead Memphis back into Sunday's postseason contest, posting team-high-tying marks in scoring and assists in just over 25 minutes in a blowout defeat. With Morant getting somewhat of a lower minute total in Game 1, look for him to make a big impact in Game 2, considering the urgency for Memphis following the embarrassing loss and the fact he didn't have to log a full workload Sunday.

Grizzlies' Ja Morant: Solid performance despite injury
Morant racked up 22 points (7-24 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 7-7 FT), seven rebounds, nine assists and three steals across 33 minutes during Friday's 120-106 Play-In Game win over Dallas.
Morant played through an ankle injury suffered in Tuesday's loss to the Warriors, helping Memphis secure the eighth seed. Although it was an encouraging performance by Morant, he will be racing the clock to ensure he is fully healthy for Game 1 against the Thunder on Sunday. Memphis is up against it, facing the best team in the NBA for the right to advance to the second round of the playoffs.

Grizzlies' Ja Morant: Green light to play Friday
Morant (ankle) is available for Friday's Play-In Game against the Mavericks, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Morant drew the questionable tag after not participating in Thursday's practice due to a right ankle sprain. He was able to go through pre-game warmups without any setbacks and has been cleared to play in Friday's elimination game. Over Morant's last eight outings (including Wednesday's Play-In Game loss to Golden State), he has averaged 27.6 points on 48.3 percent shooting (including 37.7 percent from three on 7.6 3PA/G), 5.9 assists, 43.1 rebounds and 1.1 steals over 32.8 minutes per contest.

Grizzlies' Ja Morant: Officially questionable for Friday
Morant (ankle) is questionable for Friday's Play-In Game against the Mavericks.
Morant didn't practice Thursday and is expected to be a game-time decision Friday due to a sprained right ankle. The star point guard sustained the ankle injury in the third quarter of Tuesday's Play-In Game loss to the Warriors, though he finished the game and posted 22 points (9-18 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds, three assists and one steal in 35 minutes. The 25-year-old is still dealing with swelling in his ankle, but he's optimistic about suiting up, per Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com. If Morant is sidelined against Dallas, Luke Kennard will likely see an uptick in playing time.

Grizzlies' Ja Morant: Doesn't practice Thursday
Morant (ankle) will be a game-time decision for the Grizzlies' Play-In Game on Friday against the Mavericks, Drew Hill of The Daily Memphian reports.
Morant rolled his right ankle in Tuesday's loss to the Warriors. Although he was able to return to the game, the superstar is in danger of missing Friday's win-or-go-home Play-In Game in Memphis. If the Murray State product is ruled out, the Grizzlies will likely turn to Scotty Pippen to shoulder the load at the point guard position.
